That's what I thought, but there are still people out there that think that the players are not to blame in this saga!

Re: Week 6: OSU @ Nebraska
Those people are apparently as stupid as the players involved. Without the actions of the players to do these things we would never had the mess, never had Tressel put in the situation to make the dumb decision he did and lose him as coach (not saying what he did was right, just could have been avoided had the players used their heads).
All the stuff going on is bad itself but the thought of what this season could have and should have been prior to the mess is what's sad and it happened so fast and hit hard. We were returning a 3yr starting QB, WR, RB and had one of the best coaches in the country. Now were just young, inexperienced at most positions including coach and have just been blahh so far lol

Re: Week 6: OSU @ Nebraska
Buckeye Legend John Hicks had this to say about the guidance of the program from the AD perspective, and who is really running the show right now in concerns with Gene Smith!
“
“
After the sanctions come out on the JT saga, a sweeping change will be made and many heads will roll!Gordon is consolidating his power,†Hicks said. “He’s checking over the Alumni Association and he’s getting ready to take over the athletic department. He’s made Gene a VP (associate vice president) of the university. At this point, Bricker Hall runs everything – and that’s Gordon.â€

Think Vanderbilt and the abolition of their athletic department as a seperate entity
that stood apart from the university.
Rumors and rumors of rumors is driving the process now and the final chapter will
not be known until the NCAA hands down their punishment. It is not the crime,
but the cover up, that will send Buckeye football into the depths of mediocrity
for the forseable future.
Other schools do worse, but moral equivalency is not the issue. OSU got caught and
it appears the university does not to have the will to do what is necessary and to
clean house without be forced.

What Gee did at Vandy worked for that school, it would never work here, and Gee has acknowledged this.
They can't fire Smith now, no AD replacement would ever come in without closure of the Tressel saga.
They can however make changes that put in place a better department for Gene's replacement. Like making compliance a university dept, not an athletic one.

On a side note, Travis Howard for some reason stinks this year. Cant tackle and gets burned in coverage. Too bad there is not a replacement for him and "False Start" Shuggarts!
Howard played well last year, Shuggarts has always had issues on the snap count!

How about 20-6!
Defense playing lights out, except for a few missed tackles in open space.
Gotta keep the foot on the gas!

Re: Week 6: OSU @ Nebraska
Defense played great last week too!
Nebraska has a lot of time to try and fix things,
but like I said, Nebraska is Michigan with only a slightly better defense.
Their defense has been much better in the past, but this isn't the past!
Real nice 1st half, finish the job, and PROVE ME RIGHT!!!
Go bucks!

Re: Week 6: OSU @ Nebraska
I wouldn't give Nebraska's offense that much credit Dub,, they look lost like we did last week,,although O-States defense has been solid all year
Re: Week 6: OSU @ Nebraska
If OSU wins, I will be asking for some ketchup to go with my crow dinner.
How can a team achieve so much positive change from one game to the next?
