Re: Week 1: Marshall @ Ohio State
If your coming to the game, bring a poncho or rain gear.
30% chance of rain, but judging by the way our weather up here has been
the past month, I'd say you better bring the gear just in case.
I'd be willing to bet on getting wet sometime between 3 and 4, and then again at least once between 7 and 9.
There will be lightning too, so a delay of game might occur.
Hope this time it's wrong though.

Re: Week 1: Marshall @ Ohio State
Heading up wearing the Marshall gear. Marshall is my second team and OSU is on my bad list
Prediction.....Marshall keeps it close for a quarter and a half and then tOSU rolls.
tOSU offense will be very vanilla one would imagine.

It is really hard to get excited about, who would pay those kind of ticket prices unless they're completely nuts for this game. Stay at home, watch it on the tube, save a lot of money because it'll be over before it starts. Regardless if it ends up a 4 pt. game or 34 point game this Marshall, Kent State, Toledo stuff is VERY BORING. Let's get to the 2 or 3 games that matter at the end of the year already. Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan as the rest usually mean nothing and are nothing (but hype and money) for the ncaa and the university. It's been that way for decades and will continue to be. Pretty soon Capital, Otterbein and Mt. Union will all want an extra game added each year with the Bucks to fill their money coffers.

Re: Week 1: Marshall @ Ohio State
Does someone need reminded of Liberty, East Carolina, and Marshall from last year?
Or, have they already began to overlook Coastal Carolina, Marshall, Maryland , and UNLV?
As for "who would pay those kinds of ticket prices"?
At $70 face value there are 105,000+ that got those tickets
and another 1/2 million people pissed because they didn't.

Re: Week 1: Marshall @ Ohio State
Now that it's 3 hours till the game, and all the pregame talk is done, here is what I want to see from the Buckeyes tonight.
1) Excitement and Ugency from the O-Line:
I want to see the O-Line break the huddle and get to the line of scrimmage like they have a point to prove.
No more lolly-gagging to the line and looking like they have something better to do.
They ahve business that needs done, and that bussiness is busting heads and clearing holes.
2) Executuon from the O-Line
When the Buckeyes need 3 yards to get a first down, and they line up to run, I want to see the O-Line blow the D off the ball and
make picking up the first a piece of cake.
I want to see zero sacks on Pryor when he's in the pocket. I understand that with a scrambling QB, a sack might happen just from him
rolling out and getting caught up in trying to make a play. But when Pryor drops back and stays in the pocket, I want a POCKET not a sack.
I want to see Mike Adams show that he is ready to actually play like he can and not rob the University of their scholly money anymore.
3) I want to see 5 or more different people run the ball and Boom & Zoom get 100 yards each
The stable is full at running back, I want to see the guys behind Saine and Herron get plenty of chances, but I also want to
see production out of the two studs.
4) I want to see good decisions and progression out of Pryor
People, here is the kicker that will tick off most people and make them doubtful; on the morning after like always.
Pryor is just starting the second half of his carrer, he is still learning, and he may not just take off right where the Rose Bowl finished.
Instead of seeing a Troy Smith like QB, I want to see a kid who has grown into a leader, and can move the team consistanly.
I don't need to see a ton of flash, and a bunch of passes. I want to see accuracy, decision making, and leadership.
2 TDs, 0 INT, 65% completeions, 175 yards passing, 45 yards rushing is the bench mark. I want to see how close he can come.
5) I want to see a solid 3rd option at WR
Whether it's Torian Washington, or whomever I need to see a third option for Pryor.
I'm looking for Washington, Saine out of the backfield, and Jake Stoneburner at TE to step up. Let's see who it is.
6) I want to see better special teams
Last season Tressel ball took a step backwards with decreased special teams play.
The Buckeyes are replacing the punter and have a kick competition going.
They need more of a reliable return game, and much better kick coverage.
7) I want to see defensive pressure
I want pressure on the QB, and I don't want to see the Marshall O-Line opening holes to run in.
I want better coverage by the corners, allowing the D-Line to get to the QB.
8: I want time of possesion
I want to win Time of Possesion. But more importantly , I want to run alot of plays while controling the ball.
It's one thing to run 3-6 plays take 5 minutes off the clock and punt.
I want 8-10 play drives that result in scores.
9) I don't care what the final score is
I want the Buckeyes to win, but don't care how they do it.
It's more important to get better while playing, than to play pretty and win huge.
Tressel coaches situations, so that at some point when that situation comes up later, the players will have experience.
If the game is close, that's fine, as long as we win and make steps to get better doing it.
10) I want the players to be healthy for next week.
With the heat and humidity, I expect cramping and fatgiue. I want both teams to get out of this game healthy for their next opponent.
This is what I'm watching for in this game. 10 things, hopefully the Buckeyes pull through on all 10.
7/10 will be passing, anything less and I'll be ticked.

Re: Week 1: Marshall @ Ohio State
No need to be reminded of Liberty,EC, or Marshall (WV shouldn't play those games), $70 face or $1,000 face (no college game is worth it, more money than they have common sense, it's a game for god's sake), NCAA & universities keep getting richer and the common man keeps getting poorer and people continue to buy into the hype (whatever floats your boat as there are plenty of tickets available for the "preseason" games but try to get a ticket for the big games- little man is shut out). America will buy into anything nowadays, amazing !!!!!seofan_via_dublin wrote:Does someone need reminded of Liberty, East Carolina, and Marshall from last year?

Re: Week 1: Marshall @ Ohio State
Buckeyes looked good early; all Marshall has really done was on special teams.
Offense has been doing really well, defense spectacular. Pryor has done good so far; only one real head scratcher.

35-7 now after Brian Rolle runs back a pick 6. Not much time left in the half.
