I decided to break down the AP Top 5 to see who really should be where.
The Combined Records of the Top 5 Teams opponents.
1. Ohio State 16-19
2. Baylor 11-17*
3. TCU 15-20*
4. Utah 17-11
5. Clemson 16-12*
The * Denotes that those teams played smaller FCS Opponents.
What this Data proves:
*Utah EASILY has had the toughest road thus far. They faced a Tough Michigan Team, Oregon and Cal and won those games.
*Baylor and TCUs only test has been Texas Tech. Both out of conference schedules are nothing to write home about.
*Ohio States schedule isnt the best, but not the worst. The Buckeyes needs to get their act together.
*Clemson has proven themselves by beating Notre Dame. However the next decent opponent they faced was new to FBS Appalachian State.
My top 5 right now would go...
1. Ohio State (Defending Champions)
2. Utah
3. Clemson
4. TCU
5. Baylor
All Teams in the top 5 have been tested except for Baylor. Baylor's OOC Schedule is the WORST of the top 5. The reason also why Clemson, TCU and Baylor are lower is because they face Pointless FCS opponents. Ohio State and Utah face ALL FBS opponents.
A closer look at the AP Top 5.

Clemson beating ND with what you could call ND playing a back up QB doesn't say too much at this point.
Utah is real good and what people at the time thought was another down year for Meatchicken was only a 10 point win. Seems like The Bucks can't play good D and O the same half.

3-4 in the SEC would treat Utah like a HS team . Please . Hell they wouldnt beat Michigan again.
