Think about this re: OSU in the title game.......

....what if OSU had beaten Illinois, but lost to Michigan?
They would be Big Ten co-champs, still.....
But they would still be the only BCS school with one loss (save Kansas)!
Do you think OSU would be in the championship game?
Would have been very interesting!

No way would OSU still be in the title game. I don't think the pollsters really wanted OSU that high in the rankings but couldn't avoid it because OSU kept winning. Had they lost their last game, OSU would have likely dropped to #7 stayed behind most of the teams who won conference championship games like LSU and OU.

i'm not sure about that. after all then they would have still had a share of the big ten. i think the loss came at the right time
