The Crimson Tide has been awarded the number one class for the 2008 signing period but they are still at least another year away from contention in the SEC. Coach Saban will continue to bring in top recruits (as long as he stays) just as he did at Michigan St. and LSU. Pretty soon, the Tide will be gunning for National Championship number 13...at least I hope.

Do you like quality or quantity in a recruiting class? Most of these recruiting rankings are based off of quantity. At the same time, a very small class with great quality is not that great either. A nice 18-25 man class with great quality is what I would want.
Plus, see which positions the players are coming from. Did a school stock pile on one side of the ball mainly? At one position? Did they address their positions of need? How many guys are borderline to even qualify academically?
Some of those teams that are ranked high just have 30 guys in the class. Some of them are loaded up mainly at 2 positions.
