National Championship Game

Normally I am pumped for this game. I could really take it or leave it this year given how the game was set up. Same situation in 06 with OSU/Michigan and we know what happened there. No rematch.

The more I look at the BCS, the less impressed I am with it. Especially how they get so many mis-matched games in the BCS due to automatic bids from bigger conferences.

If I have nothing to do, I will watch it. If something comes up, forget it.

Anyone else feel the same?

I've got a question. Let's say 'Bama wins 10-9 or 14-13, Who's the champ? They're both 1-1 against each other this year. Don't we need a rubber match? I haven't heard 1 talking head bring this up yet.

The way I interpreted it, if Bama wins, regardless of the margin, they are the National Champions.

So basically LSU will have beat them head to head at Bama, won the SEC championship and could lose by 1 tonight and they are #2.

BCS could have eliminated all of this by putting OK St in tonights game. But then the SEC wouldnt have a lock on the NC.

LSU unless they get blown out already is a National Champion (AP), so lets say Bama wins 21-14, Bama is BCS National Champion and LSU is AP National Champ IMO.

Not sure I get that. LSU won by three in overtime their last meeting in a game in which Alabama missed 4 field goals. I say the winner of this game is the national champion regardless of that outcome. The national championship game should determine the national champion. I think Alabama will win this go around. Every year I think my hatred of the BCS system grows. Whether a playoff at the moment would be to the detriment of my Buckeyes, or the BIG 10 as a whole, or not I think it is more effecient than what we have now.

AP used to pick their National Champion before the bowls, IMO they should now.

Bama didn't win their conference nor their division, they don't deserve an AP title imo.

You play the season to get to a title game, you play the title game to determine a national champion.

If Bama wins, they are The Champion, Period!

No splits, no AP (they're worthless anyway and have no bearing in any form of BCS or importance in college football anymore)

Winner take all. Les Miles said as much when the game was announced.

No back tracking, no participation trophies, no crying and whining about Oregon or Okla St, or LSU haveing the same record.

This is the game that the entire season was built to get to, this is the game that will determine the champ.

I said in another post I haven't watched a bowl game this year. I still don't plan to. This game means nothing to me much like the game last year. What a bore.

Dubs,

Agree to disagree. If I am an AP voter, LSU is my champ tomorrow. You don't win your conference let alone your division, no title for you.

If I am LSU win or lose I declare myself NC.

i ain't even watchin it. i watched nearly all the bowl games , but i am boycottin this one for me. if the sec wasn't in bed with espn, for 2.5 billion, this would have never happened.i could care less who wins, but i hope it's lsu. they beat oregon, west va. and alabama already, and are undefeated.they deserve to be champs.

I am an Ohio State fan, but also a fan of college football..........regardless of who's playing, I will be watching..........I'm picking LSU to win a close game, but 5 minutes from now I might pick Alabama.........to me, these two are clearly the best in college football this season.

Alabama should be the National Champion in the AP for the total domination in the game. LSU played the way they have in some of their games. Where they could hang around then flip the switch and score points at will. They could not flip the switch and could not get into the game emotionally.

I watched about a total of 3 mins of this game between commercials on Raw. I think you either haveca split title or Ok state jumps both to win it.

Alabama's defense is great, but when did they face an NFL ready QB all season? West Virginia, Kellen Moore, RG3, and Andrew Luck would all have put up at least a couple of scores on Bama because unlike LSU they are not afraid to stretch the field and play aggressively.

Roll Buckeyes.
