Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
Michigan got a verbal from Ricardo Miller (6'3, 200, WR) yeaterday for the 2010 class. He is considered to be th top WR in the state of Florida next year.
Marvin Robinson (6'2, 210, S) is also expected to verbal this week. He is considered to be the top player in the state of Florida and one of the best players in the country. This is from his myspace today....
"bout to verbal commit to the University of Michigan"

That's a long time to hang onto out of state recruits, but yes, definitely a great start.
Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
Good thing about Miller is he is a life long UM fan, and Mom is a UM grad. Marvin has an uncle by marriage who is a UM grad and he is also a life long fan.
Another key note is super sophomore Demetrious Hart is coming with Miller to watch the Illinois game this week. Hart is best friends with Miller and wants to play with him in college.
Today Marvin percentage went to 51%. Thomas Gordon started at 51% last week and than he commited.

You must be joking right, all you osu fans are scared cause you know that JT has a hard time stoping RR style of Offense when he gets his type of players into his system.
Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
Please don't stereotype all OSU fans together b/c I have been animate since the hiring of RR that we will have alot more trouble in the future with them then we had with Carr running the show. Great hire for UM and a great addition to the Big Ten. Teams struggle when they lose what UM did last year and they are not exempt from this, however they are and will come around with time. OSU has more trouble with well coached teams then with the style of play that teams bring to the table. We have been beaten by different styles and alot of OSU fans want to blame the spread but heck Leak wasn't a runner at all, he beat us with his arm and they outcoached us badly. Coaches must surround themselves with winners and teaching coaches at the college level and to date RR has done a better job then JT with that aspect. Add to that great players and winning comes natural. OSU has great players and JT is a good headcoach. His assistants, well ...........????? We lost a good one to Cinci a few years back.
Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
Lo Wood, junior DB and top 150 rated in the 2010 class will also be in attendance with Miller and Robinson. He contacted UM because he was good friends with Miller and played with him all throughout high school, untill he moved to Apoka. Apoka is home to current UM commit Jeremy Gallon.
Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
Jeremy Jackson, top 150 WR from Michigan in the 2010 class and son of current running back coach Fred Jackson, said on his facebook, "only a few more days untill I am a wolverine."

Rodriguez will be able to recruit the offense. No doubt about it.

Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
it will happen. he has to be given time to get his system going and his kids in there to run his style of ball.
Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
Jeremey Jackson, 6'2, 195, WR, has pledged to the Wolverines class of 2010. Michigan already has two of the best WR's in the 2010 class on board.
Look for Marvin Robinson to commit in the very very near future.
Word on the street is that Dior Mathis has changed his mind about Miami, Dior is one of the best DB's in the country in the 2010 class. He is also teammates with current Wolverine Boubacar Cissoko, verbals Thomas Gordon and "Big" Will Campbell. He could be commit #4. Future looks bright.

Re: Michigna recruiting 2010---Could be OSU of 09
peake, I know you didn't agree with this guy's assessments last year, but he is this honest about OSU-Florida guys also.
GALLON- plays QB and is quick/fast. he is little. quite a contrast to martavious odoms who they got last year out of the muck who is a very refined WR who just makes plays. gallon will need some seasoning. odoms is also 'little'.
JONES: you can put him in the telfort, emilien, addison class of player. maybe a safety, maybe a LB. edgewater which is one of orlando's top programs. he is bigger than those other players (height).
SMITH: a reach for michigan. little, not that fast, not that quick, but he is productive and comes from the muck which is never bad. might be looking at him for the slot role as well. maybe just a little back out of the shotgun. antone smith (not related, or not a brother at least) lit it up for pahokee and was highly coveted. he went to FSU and has only been 'decent'. antone is faster, quicker, and tougher. this is the reason i am very skeptical about vincent.
HAWTHORNE: another player from the muck and a pretty good LB. small, only weighs in the '185-190' range today and about 5'11. not what i picture a michigan LBer to be, but i guess 'michigan' is not really 'michigan' anymore with RROD. because he is from the muck and highly productive, he will probably start down the road.
none of the above got much interest from the big 3. does not mean they cant play, just that they were not 'stolen' from florida. UF took the best pahokee prospect nu'keese richardson(wr).....and pahokee has been "fsu' territory for a LONG time.....i guess that is over: janorris jenkins last year went to UF and is starting and certainly a freshmen all american......and miami got the big DT (regis).....odoms went to michigan of course.
MILLER- big time get. looking at a at worst top 7 type WR in florida(in a loaded year). too early to tell where he will end up in 'rankings', but he is a kid who will be pursued by a LOT of schools. seems pretty gung ho on going to michigan. can step in and play immediately.
ROBINSON: also likely leaning to michigan and another player who will be pursued by a lot of schools. right now he looks like a safety, but he is pretty darn big for a junior. might have to push him to LB down the road where he would be dangerous. he's physical, so putting him in the MLB would be 'ray lewis' like. kid who can do it all. sideline to sideline, drop into coverage. if he stays the present size, no question an upper tier safety. he developed early, so it is prudent to let some kids 'catch up' in terms of 'rankings'. a TON of safeties next year. regardless, a very, very good get for michigan who will play early. 70/30 safety.
WOOD: a 'top 10-15' type CB in florida. pretty good, not great right now. good size for a CB. might or might now get any interest from the big 3. i would say 'not' at this time.
DUNKLEY: he is going to UF. some think he is the #1 WR in florida next year. wheels. on the small side, but gamebreaker type.
*fairly significant difference between the 2010 and 2009 group. looking at some 'star power' in the 2010 class. having said that, if odoms/smith/hawthorne get michigan De'joshua johnson(wr) from pahokee, yikes. i doubt it though. johnson will be heavily pursued. put johnson, miller, odoms/gallon on the field and there are some serious playmakers on the field in 2010-2011.
**dior mathis is supposedly all miami. would probably require the DT campbell to come to miami for that to happen. i dont think he can get to miami on his own. shannon does not like little CB's. i dont know anything about him, just that he is 5'8ish and fast and miami fans (who dont understand the process) are saying he is 'in'.

I don't disagree with 90% of those evaluations. Smith to me does seem to be a reach. I thought we could get a Taveon Austin or someone who is a little more polished. Hawthorne reminds me of Ian Gold. Gold came in at 6'0 1/2, 192 pounds. He is now like 245. I think Hawthorne will be one of those needs time to get bigger kids, which is fine because I beleive the LB core at UM is set for another year or so. Obi is a (R)Soph, Mouton is a (R)Soph, and JB Fitzgerald will be a Soph next season. They can stand to have some kids develop.
I agree 100% with Jones. He is going to be a LB.
Gallon, he is a water bug. Watched him about a month ago on ESPN, he was really exciting. He is a Barry Sanders type of runner. Not great turnover speed, but great cutback ability.
I still disagree with what he said about Odoms. If you have seen him this season, he looks like a vet out there. He doesn't drop a pass, has great quicks, and can make people miss. He is not a homerun hitter unless you get him in space, but he is a player.
The juniors though are pretty talented. Hart is only a soph though, so it is a little hard to evaluate him at this point.
