You knew Butch Davis was going to put it together eventually. Even though UCONN is terribly overrated and were picked by many experts to lose this game, UNC as a program can build off this win.

Davis shows what big time coaching experience adds to the resume. Even though he wasn't very successful at the pro level he still learned from the experience and is bringing that to UNC. ANY and ALL schools should seek from within the NFL ranks when looking for good coaches and coordinators. Most really good college coaches have spent time in the NFL as an assistant or at a major university with big time exposure. I hope UNC beats that team into resigning their football program in it's entirety forever.

Davis was already a great coach before he wasted time in the pros like so many good college coaches have...

BTW, I think this game will break the o/u of 45 pts and I like the Irish to at least make it closer than the 6 point spread in Vegas right now.... UNC has found ways to win this year even if they're outgained by quite a bit.

Most really good college coaches have spent time in the pros but most do not publicly converse about those days b/c they were not the leading man at the time. Davis spent time at a major university and that helped him but so did learning from pro ball. Saban is another who learned in the pro system, came to college, went to the pros, and now back to college. Teaching coaches are better college coaches b/c technique means so much. If you can teach NFL technique to college kids then they will be better players rather than what some major universities are teaching. Carroll and Norton both have pro ties, heck Norton is a UCLA grad but the lbs at USC have superior technique to most schools. I guess what i really want to say is that OSU has alot of x-pro players that would be a great fit. CS would be a great dc and lb coach with a set of &*^&. Davis is a good college coach and UNC will be better in the future than they are now if he chooses to stay.

Any team that plays nd, I am a fan of...Go Heels!

Butch Davis will right the ship in Tarheel country and they will be a consistent force in the ACC. So far, this year is looking pretty good but watch out when he gets another recruiting class in Chapel Hill.
