Based off of wins vs losses and quality of competition, I'd have to
go with Texas right now.
Bama is good, but I don't see them running the table.
Oklahoma will likely not lose again, but miss the Big12 title game.
Florida is a threat, but only when they decide to play well.
PSU has looked great, but has played nobody at all.
USC should be considered great, but they have to go to Cal, and
we've seen how the road treats the trojans.
I still don't think Texas runs the table, but they are a very tough out.
They haven't played teams with standout defenses, Okla St will be
a good test for them, but may not have the offense to win the game.
I think the better question is, Who is the second best team in the country.

I couldn't believe it. Today, Gary Danielson (SEC shill) was bragging up Ohio State and said any team in the country would have been handled that night out west against USC. He said they didn't have Wells and Pryor just played a little, and now he thinks either OSU or USC will play for the national title. My mouth hung open with shock for about 15 minutes. He is the biggest SEC homer you will ever hear.

I'd love to go back and play that game over again.
With a healthy Beanie, a much better Pryor, and a defense
with their feet under them.
We may have a great chance for it in either the Rose Bowl or the
National Title game.

I did hear that as well. I still beleive USC is the best team talent wise in the country.
I said it from the beginning of the season that Texas would be very good. I beleive they will win out, but unless PSU beat OSU, than a one loss team will get in. I expect USC.

I dont think there is any way that a one loss big ten team makes it to the national title game, but the Rose bowl is a possibility.

Are you basing that opinion on this season only?
Or are you going with the rest of the biased media and forming your opinion
on seasons past that don't have anything to do with this years teams?
BTW: A Big Ten team will be in the rose bowl, reguardless of their record, it's their bowl.

I meant that the rose bowl for osu is a possibility. the media has influence over the polls whether we like it or not, thats just the way it is.

But nobody from the media is answering these questions.
These are your opinions, not theirs.
Who do you think is the best team in the country, not who does Mark May and company tell
you who is.

Mark May is the biggest idiot on television. but as of right now Texas seems to have the best team, but that could change very quickly.

Something we agree on, on all three points!

I personally think the Buckeyes take care of PSU on saturday, and win out in the Big 10.
I also think that enough teams above them lose to get them to #5 by the end of the season
with out any form of help or doubt.
Question is, who gets upset from 1-4 and do the human voters jump someone over the Buckeyes if that happens.
I think the Buckeyes finish the season at #4 in the BCS and earn a trip to the Rose Bowl,
where they'll play USC who either loses again before then or not enough teams lose for them to jump to #2.

We all know it is going to be crazy just as alast season was, but lets not look at the losses, lets look at the quality wins.
Texas- Mizzou, Oklahoma-----Makes them an easy #1
Bama- Georgia, Clemson---UG was big but they need another big win, possibly LSU.
PSU- Oregon St.Wisconsin----For the simple fact that they destroyed a team that USC lost to, and OSU posters will put down Wisconsin, so they blew them out as well.
Oklahoma- Mizzou---Need to beat Okl St.
USC- OSU---They may have the worst loss, but they have a huge quality win.
Florida-LSU---They destroyed them---They still need another big win.
Texas Tech---Pretender!
OSU- MSU---Nice victory, but how many times has MSU looked like this only to turn around and implode.
It has to be at this very moment Texas, Bama, than USC.

right now Texas. if OSU dominates PSU this weekend imo i think they will move up a few spots in the rankings, possibily close to top 5.
