Nasty compound fracture at Houston/Marshall...

Post by thesmokinglens »

I know this is a college topic, but there's nobody in there...

In case you didn't get to see it, or even if you did and didn't quite catch what happened, you might wanna' check this out... but if your stomach is weak, then you might not. His tibia snapped like a twig.

It's the 13th photo down, about halfway...

Some equipment person should be in a lot of trouble. That has no business being that close to the field. And obviously the fibula is snapped as well the tibia.

OMG! I WAS THERE! THE CARTS WERE FOR SOME OF THE BANDS EQUIPMENT. SURE DIDN'T TAKE LONG FOR THEM TO DISAPPEAR! THE MARSHALL PLAYER CLEARED THEM BY BASICALLY HURDLING THE CART AND LANDING UP THE INCLIDE BEHIND THEM. HE'S LUCKY HE DIDN'T "JAM" SOMETHING. IT WAS A GOOD GAME! NICE TO SEE MARSHALL WITH A WIN.....

JUST THINK. THAT FAR AWAY FROM HOME WITH SUCH A NASTY INJURY....... :122246 AND-GREAT PHOTO!

Wow. Great timing.
You'd think the refs would notice those carts and get them out of there.

What a bad thing. At one of the GAHS home games there was a large metal stand that the band field commander stands on while doing their thing, and the Whaley boy was forced into it on a run. He banged his arm up pretty bad, lucky no broken bones.

well preventive mainenance is the cure. why are we turning a blind eye to some of the fields we force our youngsters to play on vinton county for example. the endzone on the visor side is full of gravel and a building less than 3 yards away. noway should this be allowed when i asked the question why do you allow this? we been coming here for years and its always been this way. like the slogan it`s all fun and games till someone gets hurt.

noway should atheletes be put into these positions what happened at marshall is sad. he needs to place the blame on the right people. who allowed these vehicles on the surface? game officials take responsiblity for field about 30 min prior to kickoff. did marshall management set the crew up for failure or did both turn a blind eye to the fact.

did it happen inside the restraining line that goes around the whole field?

what do you think of the hedges at the u of georgia?

when in doubt take the safe course even if it is not popular you could be the one one the defense bench and these cameras dont lie

nah. Marshall is paying his medical bills, and he doesn't blame Marshall Athletics or the Marshall Marching Thunder for any of this. the referees who were officiating that night however, he's holding them fully accountable since it is their jobs to go around and make sure stuff like that is a safe distance from the playing field, and since they decided those carts were far enough away from the field to be "safe", then he wants them to be held accountable.

btw -- he is at CHH, and on their website you can send him an e-Card. I myself sent one to him yesterday.

According to the news those carts have been placed there for years without any incidence. If those carts are being moved there before halftime then its not the refs fault its the schools fault.
