For those of you who didn't see this, here is a clip from the Marshall and Houston football game where Houston receiver Patrick Edwards runs into a cart parked behind the end zone. Huge mistake on Marshall's part parking those stupid carts behind the end zone and what is worse, possibly ruining this young man's career. I hope he fully recovers but after watching, I don't see how. Just plain STUPID on Marshall's part. Warning: NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH!!!

I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL HIGH SCHOOL BANDS DOING THIS... INCLUDING GALLIA ACADEMY... WITH CARTS , LADDERS, ETC.

I was watching this game on ESPN and as soon as that happened i knew he had to be hurt. The fact that the carts were there was a bad mistake. I know a lot of people are blaming the Marshall band and I'm sure they feel bad enough, but i have seen the other argument that it is the officials fault for not checking that the area was safe to play and having those moved.

Today the safety chasing him down went to the hospital with Mark Snyder and visited the Houston player and i think that was a very classy thing to do, and also Marshall is picking up his hospital bill.

He said that he did not blame Marshall but in fact blamed the Conference USA refs.

Can you say Law Suit. They should sue an they will win.

STUPID thing Marshall. I don't care if you have been doing it for awhile,it was STUPID.

any news on this young mans injury? looked like definite knee issue. refs fault no doubt. as an official its your responsibility to make sure the playing area is safe whatever the sport.

That is a classy act, but it doesn't make up for playing time.

Part of the refs job is to check the field BEFORE the game. Objects being moved around the field during the game would be hard to keep up with. Some body is definatly going to be in trouble over this though. Maybe security or the band director.

He had surgery on his broken tibia and fibula the night it happened at Cabell Huntington Hospital. If all goes well he will be released from the hospital today or tomorrow and fly back to Houston. It's just sad that because of someone's ignorance, this young man may never play football again.

i was watching it tuesday night and as soon as it happened my comment was "OH S***"

its really a bad deal for that young man not sure who is to blame crap happens were sure it it never happen again at marshall i have been to many games at marshall and have seen randy moss climb the hill at that end many times don't ever remember ever seeing any carts there but who was looking for carts?
