OSU BB
Just watched the bucks come back and beat Miami. I think this could be a pretty good team and Matta is a heck of a coach. Thoughts?

not a bad team but the bucks dont win this game if miami didnt lose their best player with 10 minutes to go. miami guy was brushing off a hand check and committed a foul, flagrant, no way. a win is a win though.

Buckeyes played well but Miami was without their top dog who, got kicked out of the game after slapping a Buckeye player in the face.

After retaliating by slapping the player back in the face.

Plus the McClinton kid was ejected in the first half with 10 minutes to play when his team was up by 19-7. It might've been different had he not been ejected but Matta had a sure of a easier time to gameplan from there on out that's for sure. It took the assistant coaches to make it a point to the referees to go back on replay to see what had happened so Matta couldn't see it happen and if you were watcing the game it happened right in front of him so good job Matta. McClinton better not see any more of a suspension from this because it was not an closed fisted punch, it was an open handed slap so it should just be the game and no more. Lucky win for the Buckeyes. Oh and that hand check was a minor slap to the face as well, just wasn't as legible to be seen.

Re: OSU BB
LOL. Crater was playing defense and his intent was to play defense. His hand accidentally hit the face of the defender.
Mcslappy was retaliating. He was seeking revenge. His intent was to slap Crater in the face. His intent was to commit a violent act in response to an accident.
You guys are hilarious. What Crater did accidentally happens all the time. When I played, I had my eyes poked probably a handful of times by a guy either getting a hand in my face or slapping at the ball. My response was to move on and I am even a person with a quick temper when competing. Then again, I am not a thug from thug U.
Anyway....

According to ESPN, the ACC will review the tapes and decide if a one game suspension is in order for McClinton.
I think the refs made the right call.
McClinton's action cost Miami the game IMO.

Re: OSU BB
A slap or a punch both are violent actions meant to cause harm to another player. The Buckeye guy was playing D and it was an accident McClintons reaction was purposeful and with malice intent to wards the Buckeye player.
As for the game itself that showed a lot of heart by the Buckeyes to come form behind like that and to win.

please, they came from behind because the other team lost their best player. should not be a reviewable act during the game. after the game, if conference officials want to review and discipline then fine, but not during the game. plus the review only took place after the osu coach's whined about it hwich makes me even more suspicious.

Just be glad Matta doesn't coach at UNC, or Duke might lose more than one player due to excessive roughness on Hansbrough.

Well, the rules of college basketball say it is reviewable. Just because you wish it to be one way does not make it so....
Also, how would coaches whining make you suspicious? It was on video. The Referees reviewed the tape because an OSU player was on his knees holding his eye AND the coaches were saying he was intentionally hit.
As soon as I saw the clip I said, "He is gone." There was no doubt. This is college basketball. It is an amateur sport. They players are not wearing pads or helmets. Any type of swing intended to inflict violence will result in an automatic ejection and rightfully so. Enough of the thuggery.

btw, it took a duke coach to get gold again for the united states.
any other comments about duke, see record, schedule, conference, rankings, etc.

what are you on here to prove?
He is offended by Ohio State fans discussing a win. I see no one making outrageous claims about OSU being amazing this season.
Also, if Williams were to retire, UNC would love to hire Thad Matta. Believe that.
As for Duke, isn't this the same guy that said all of OSU's success has been worthless (minus 2002) because they have not won the national championship? In that case, Duke has been a huge failure in recent years. This is their sport and they even give the player's parents jobs, and yet, no national championships for a decade. I guess it is a failing program in qualified's eyes (though I do not agree ie. conference titles mean much IMO).
