Re: Who's your national Champion?
To be honest, it doesnt matter who is picked as National Champion (NC), someone is going to disagree. The NC is always going to be argued until the NCAA D I has a playoff LIKE EVERY OTHER SPORT!!!
BTW, I'll pick Florida, although Utah does have a good arguement along with USC and Texas.

Re: Who's your national Champion?
1) USC 2)Utah 3) Florida
I dont like USC but they pretty much whipped everyones tail except Oregon St.
Utah impressed me with the win over Alabama
Florida and the SEC all cry if they dont play in the title game.Go outside of you're own freakin state and play someone!! Past 2 years the title game has been home turf for the winners, next year I say USC will be in it,oh its played at the Rose bowl so they will be there.
GO Mount Union Purple Raiders!!

Re: Who's your national Champion?
Even though I'm not a fan, after watching Florida and Oklahoma played numerous times this year, I have to say that I believe that USC would beat either one of these teams, beginning of the season, middle of the season, or last night. Utah certainly has a very strong claim, being that they went undefeated. However, I felt that Alabama was living a "cinderella" dream this season, and the carriage turned into the pumpkin in the SEC championship game. I believe that Utah exposed Alabama for what they were this year, a pretender. So, it is a little hard for me to say Utah is the best team, due to their schedule.
This year is just another example of the fact that the BCS is a load of crap. A playoff is needed, period.

USC, I would just love to see Florida play them and Tebow drop that shoulder and try to take on their LB's, he would think twice next time,

I would have loved to have seen Ohio State be a one-loss champion this season. haha
There would be no second guessing on this website...
Florida lost a game yes, but I wish they would have played Utah's sched...Their biggest game was over a team Florida beat by two scores, without their best weapon.

Re: Who's your national Champion?
Also, Im sick of hearing the "USC would beat Florida" argument...How many times out of ten do you really think they would beat Florida?
Oklahoma had a better offense than USC and Florida held them to 14 points. Penn State, who has a far inferior offense to Florida, put up 24 on USC. Just looking at that, it looks like Florida could maybe compete with God's gift to college football...Well, maybe...
USC has seen nothing like Tebow or Harvin. They have seen nothing close to Florida's offense. Period.
Florida hasnt seen a defense like USC, but they have played great defenses this year and averaged 45 ppg.
Ill take the Gators as my national champion, because thats what it will look like in the record books people.
It will NOT say

Re: Who's your national Champion?
Your arguement makes no since.
I watched USC drop 35 on OSU like it was nothing---all the while Texas struggled to score 24. Good for Texas, you beat the 2nd best team in the Big 10.
I will give the Big 12 credit---great QB's, great offensive skill players, but 0 defense.
Florida's offense is nothing special compared to USC. Florida has a single player who poses a matchup problem for everyone---Harvin. Tim Tebow is a great player, but he is not going to run over and around USC's LB's.
Of all things, I don't think Florida has seen a defense like USC's. If Tebow hits the second level, imagine him running into (6'3, 230, S) Taylor Mays coming to take his head off.
Florida's offense avg. ppg- 43
USC's- 38
Take for granted Florida dropped 70 on The Citadal, and your looking at two offenses that are pretty equal.
I look at the quality wins- out of conference- USC beats OSU/ Florida beats Miami, FL
biggest win in the regular season (conference)- USC- Cal or Oregon take your pick/ Florida- Bama
Bowl wins- USC- PSU/ Florida- Oklahoma
With all of this taken into account---no way Florida is the clearcut NC in my mind.
USC top to bottom has more talent. USC has a much better defense IMO. They have balance offense, while Florida is a two man show. I will give Florida more credit for conference strength, but I feel the PAC-10 was shafted by the media.
You can have Florida as the NC, but this thread is to grant a NC for everyone.
After watching all of the bowls---the NC should have been Florida and USC.

Is Florida CLEARCUT? No and it usually never is clearcut.
Are they the national champions? Yes.
I agree it shouldve been Florida and USC. I wanted that game. The two best teams from Day 1 IMO.
USC has the most NFL talent in college football. Period. Ill admit that. Does that necessarily mean they would manhandle Florida? No. USC has a much better defense and Florida has a much better offense IMO. I dont think USC would score much on Florida, but admittedly Florida would have a tough time themselves. It would come down to halftime adjustments, or atleast thats what I think.
Florida is not a two man show on offense. They have two great offensive players and plenty of other good ones (Hernandez, Murphy, Demps, Rainey, Nelson) who dont shine as much due to the shadow of Tebow and Harvin. If Harvin goes, youll see the other guys next year.

Re: Who's your national Champion?
I'll say this... I was amazed Florida could only score 24 against that piss-poor Oklahoma D.
JMO, but I think if Florida would have played USC last night, the Trojans take it by 14+..
USC's D is big, fast, and they get to the football.

Oklahoma's defense was better last night than it had been all year. I can say that much.
14+? Haha. I can understand you saying USC would win, but come on. 14?

If your not a Gator, you must be Gator bait.

Florida is 1 point away from a perfect record. A blocked XP by the team that is 15th in the poll today. The SEC has 3 teams in the top 10.

Re: Who's your national Champion?
Please, I don't want to hear we are the SEC crap. The SEC is not even close to as dominate as they think they are. Tell the SEC to try and play someone out of conference---and try actually leaving the state.
I will give you Florida---excellent team---after that Georgia was a fraud, so was LSU, Bama was a true top 10, teams like Ole Miss and Vandy were much better then expected, but I am not buying this conference this year.
I am still having a really hard time wrapping my mind around why USC's offense isn't as good as Florida or anyone for that matter. Moody, who couldn't even get into the lineup at RB for USC, plays at Florida. Those WR's at USC are every bit as good if not better then any of the Florida WR's (exclude Harvin). Against a good OSU defense, USC had no problem openingup holes and protecting Sanchez (who is pretty darn good IMO).
Oklahoma was a fraud. The entire Big 12 was a fraud. Don't get me wrong Florida is great and deserved to be in the NC Game, but the Big 12 milked the national media tagging them to be the best conference, despite the fact they only beat up on one another. OSU out played Texas, Tech was exposed, Oklahoma (duh), and Oklahoma State was exposed as well.
