Bad economy won’t stop Ohio in raising prices.
The Buckeyes say screw the fans we are raising ticket prices one buck.
Re: Bad economy won’t stop Ohio in raising prices.
A whole buck? Screw that, I'm not going to a game.
Supply and demand. That price should be as high as possible while still packing the stadium. That is business.
People compare OU students going to games for free, but it has to be that way to have a crowd. OU would do the same thing if millions wanted to pack into their stadium each week.... or if 15,000 students wanted in 5,000 seats.
Once people stop going, they will lower the prices. I never paid "face" prices to get into a football game anyway (if that is what you're talking about) because it is tough to get those. I usually paid $100-$300 per ticket per game, depending on the opponent.

I heard it was something they were contemplating, not something they had put into place. Plus if it's $1 it's not like the average family of 4 is going to games and buying stuff like at Reds games or anything. The MAJORITY of the people have no problem with $8 more a season. I agree if they make it a habit it might get annoying. It's business and plus isn't everything's price going up?

I'm sure the fans who actually attend the games that are there tailgating and entering the horseshoe and feeling the rush at a Buckeye game will think, "Oh, gee, I can't have a good time because I got screwed and paid a $1.00 more." and like Orestes says, it's rare you can get face value tickets anyway, although we did at a couple of games last year, and a $1.00 wouldn't have made a difference. Buckeye games are usually just me and my husband, once in a while, our kids will join in, the whole crew manages to take in the Spring Game at just $5.00 each. This gives our grandkids the opportunity to enjoy the horseshoe experience, not only because of the price but with the lower crowds they have room to be a little squirmy. They are quickly learning....... Saturdays at the shoe.....priceless.

whats the big deal? Its not like the tickets actually go o sale to the general public....actually I am wrong about that. the tickets do go on sale to the general public, at far more inflated prices than $1. This is no big deal.

OSU's football program isn't a welfare program for our entertainment.
You will either:
1. Suck it up and pay the extra buck or
2. Be man of principle and refuse to pay the extra buck.
It's as simple as that...

and jeez...
If you refuse to buy the tickets, you can still watch the game on TV, which will be a better view of the game than if you had gone.

How much is that in scalpers $$$$$, that's about the only way to get tickets to anything anymore.
