Re: Post Spring Football...Your Thoughts
I thought Pryor looked alot better, but still has a ton to improve on.
Having his top WRs, and a complete O-Line will help
...(he was without most of them for the spring game)
I thought Ray Small showed signs that he can finally step up and be a playmaker,
he needs to get more consistant, and lower the number of drops.
Though to get a good read on the total defense, although there were
some good plays by several individuals.
Going to have to work on a running game, Beanie will be missed,
but they are looking to spread things out and get more lanes for their
smaller and quick backs. Going to be a different style of running this fall.
I think they got enough on film of actual game type performance to go into
the summer and really get something nailed down for the fall.
It will have to be potent and polished fast though, USC comes to town Sept. 12.

I thought Pryor looked very good. He was 13-18 for 191 yards and 2 TDs during one half of football. Plus, Small dropped one. Also, his ball looked sharp, he didn't run for a lot of yards, and he was sharp and accurate while throwing on the run.
Tyler Moeller and Brian Rolle were all over the place. The LBs will be good. I'm not sure the D will miss a beat. The D-line is improved, the LBs have been good all camp long, and Torrence, Amos, and Howard all look solid at CB next to Chekwa.
The O-line struggled at times. However, the D-line is much deeper than the O-line, so when they are split up, the O-line would naturally look worse. Plus, O-line play is much more about playing as a unit.
I think if Pryor stays healthy, OSU will finish anywhere from 10-2 to 12-0.

95732 people at this one breaks an NCAA record for a Spring Game crowd. Gray wins 23-3 and the Scarlett team had to walk to the Woody after the game. Loser always walks.
Congrats to Marcus Williams on the longest run from scrimmage by any running back. Aaron Pettery's onside kick with 51 seconds to go in the 1st half really caught the Scarlett team off guard. He not only kicked the ball but stood on the other side of the 40 and waited to recover it himself. The Grey scored with 1 second left on the clock in the 1st half on a beautiful throw by TP and a great catch and run by Ray Small.

I saw what flickering lights of what Boom and Zoom can do for the Bucks. I knew that Herron could run hard and he did and did it well. Saine ran well also. I am excited for the fall. Is it August yet?????

Im not sure what I can say about Florida.
There are a lot of injuries on the team right now, but the guys who need the most improvement are still healthy.
Jeffrey Demps, the fastest player in college football, has improved which will be huge. Florida's running game should be solid next year with Moody, Rainey, Demps, and James.
Look for Deonte Thompson to step up big.
Who will be the next Percy Harvin?

Looked to me like he got caught from behind by "The Rat" #26 Tyler Moeller. I think the Storm guy your referring to, might have helped on the tackle but after Moeller caught him. They both needed to do that since they are the lbs who let the breakaway, up the middle, happen in the first place.

It doesn't matter about OSU. Bollman is still Off. Cor. so the O-line will still suck and they will lose at least 2 games and be smoked in the Bowl game. Write it down and remember this post. I haven't been wrong before and this year will be no different. Bollman has been a complete failure since he has been at OSU. Tress MUST replace incompetence before a NC can be achieved.
Re: Post Spring Football...Your Thoughts
I agree frank, we are both tOSU fans to the end and that is why we are concerned with this. Under Bollman no development on the offensive lines and that is his strong suit. Offensive planning has been horrible and I agree totally this year will be no different other than the fact that we have players capable of making the system look good much like with Smith, Gonzo, Ginn, and Pitman. Play calling was still bland and in game adjustments were poor but we had horses. We have horses, even moreso than last year. (except Wells) We are both gonna get it now but I have said that for years and now more and more are seeing it. We do things offensively sometimes but with no consistancy and fans still make excuses for Bollman, ie the line or inexperience. Good coaches take what they have and work around it and most importantly progressions are made and consistancy developed. With our talent we should have some established bread n butter pass plays but we really have no consistant pass plays that work. Poor planning and scheming. One thing for sure, a tOSU qb will never be accused of being a system qb because we have no true system other than play scared of to's. Which creates to's in the end and reduces player development. Maybe it will all change this year????????

The NC has already been achieved with Bollman as the Oline coach...
OSU had talent issues on the O-line. Boone was the only recruit who wasn't considered a project. He is an alcoholic.
If Brewster, Shugarts, and Adams leave OSU without ever having a good to great offensive line, I'll agree with you.
However, keep in mind that Brewster, Adams, and Shugarts all mentioned Bollman as their reason for coming to OSU.
Also consider the play calling that was given to Pryor as a true frosh. That will make any O-line look bad. It's a lot easier to block when the defense is on its heels.
Re: Post Spring Football...Your Thoughts
The Offense will probably be better than last year. I say this because the line has to be better than last year, and Pryor will be much improved. I also think the Defense will be better because the d-line will be much better and that is the key to a good defense.

CANNIBAL wrote:DOES ANYONE THINK PRYOR CAN BE BETTER THAN TROY SMITH?
On pure athletic talent, he already is in most ways.
How he'll be compared to Troy will depend solely on his ability to mature
as a leader, his ability to learn and apply what Tressel teaches, and his
ability to take a team and lead it.
If he doesn't grasp this at the level that Smith did, then NO he won't have the
success that Troy had. If he does, then he will be judged as Troy's superior.
He may not ever win the Heisman though, to many variables in that one.
