Brian Kelly would be a great candidate because he has brought Cincinnati to a dominate position in FBS football and he seems to know how to develop players and make their strengths stronger and their weaknesses non existent.
Now Lets talk about Jim Tressel. He has beaten Michigan all but one time since he has been a coach at Ohio State but he seems to cost them a lot of Big non-conference games like the game vs. USC. He just don't know how to win big games.

Most of your OSU fans on here kill me, your the first to praised JT for a win and if something happens your the first to bash the coach. Now not all of OSU fans are that way. Look at what JT has done for OSU been to three national title games won one of those games. Yes he lost to LSU and UF but look at all the teams that would have love to at least have a shot in playing for a title. He has lost to USC twice now, the lost to PSU last year, and Purdue this year but look at all the games he has won.
Remember before JT you had Cooper and he COULDN'T beat Michigan if his life depended on it, and JT is 6-1. All I am saying is take a step back and look what the man has done for your program for the good and not the bad. How many Big Ten titles has OSU won since JT, how many BCS bowls has JT been in. It is sad when a Michigan fan has to kinda pull for the coach who kicks our butts every year, with some of the most dominate defense anyone has ever seen.

Plus you OSU fans are kinda have unrealistic expectations for team, you feel that every year you should win every game on you schedule, which is nice but unreal and when ya lose some fans go off the deep end wanting the coaches head. i guess it cause your spoiled by all the success JT has had.

Success breeds high expectations.
Walking into the Schott and telling Buckeye Nation that in 308 days, we're beating Michigan,
and then doing it, started it off.
Then beating Miami, in a game they had no business winning, and bringing home the first national title
since 1968 (or 1970 depending on your source), added to the legend.
Winning 5 straight against Michigan, and 7/8 makes him the King of the town.
Beating the #2 team in the country in 2006 and getting the team to the National title game.
Then taking a team that was supposed to be rebuilding, and getting them to the title game
the year after.
Winning 81% of your games, the 5th best in the country in your time at the school.
Coaching 18 1st team all americans in 8 years.
Having 11 National Award winners in 8 years
5 Big 10 titles in 8 years, including the last 4, and controling your own fate for a 5th straight, and 6th in 9 years.
Jim Tressel has a few wrinkles to iron out in his current system,
but he has EARNED the ability to remain the Buckeyes head coach.
It doesn't mean that we can't disagree, or point out his flaws, this in fact will help push him along.
It does mean, however, that I wouldn't want anyone else steering this ship.

If Ohio State would fire JT after this season, I would personally burn down Ohio Stadium.
What idiot would want him fired? You are NOT a true fan if you want this man fired. There are some real ignorant people in this world.

Ohio State doesn't need a new coach, they need a QB. Pryor is one hell of an athlete, but he is not a QB.

its crazy to talk about firing tressel, but how can he not look at this offense and see that there is not a problem. the problem with the offensive line has been there for 4 years now, and prior is just terrible. there has been NO progression from last year to this year. that has to go back to coaching. tressel is clearly going to have to make some changes in off season. to keep the guys he has in place now is inviting another year of the same thing with the line and the quarterback. its no secret that of the 4 national championship rings that tressel has bollman has zero. he came to youngstown state after the 4th championship, and their record after that before he came to osu says it all.

I will take 10-2 with Tress any year. Most schools would love to play in a BCS game every year.

I said it from the beginning of the season. The Big Ten is very average. When I said that, that meant I was including Ohio State. Ohio State is not a great team at this point. I think OSU fans forgot about the great group of skill players you lost last year. Sooner or later youth would catch up with you, and it did. Ohio State is still a good team, but nothing special. I honestly see nothing special about a single team in this conference. Iowa will get beat, and if they do not, then the Big Ten is ever worse then I originally thought.
Coach Tress is an outstanding coach. He will win a lot more games then how loses.
Just for the sake of this thread---None of the coaches listed above would be on OSU's short list IMO. Peterson has something going on with his family that is keeping him in Boise. He was on Michigan's short list but something was going on that could not be revealed. He should have been gone a long time ago, but something is going on.

There is one person who was interviewed before and is loved by everyone at OSU. Even though he has never coached he has the knowledge and contacts to bring in qualified assistants.Chris Spielman if he had experience would be a great one no only on the field but as a role model. I did read that his wife is in a wheelchair from her cancer. His faith and attitude is helping him and his family now. He would be great to be brought in to help this team. There is probably no one who loves and respects the game of football more than him.
Tres is a good coach but he needs to do better with some assistants and getting some of the players to improve. The game changes some and the good teams are always working to get better.

You are right on. He would be a top notch WR.
But is Tress that good of a coach if he is too stubborn to make a switch? Our offense is garbage. When you cant move the ball against Purdue, you have to make a change.
Ohio State needs an offensive coordinator in a BIG way. Someone who knows how to win a big game and utilize blue chip talent. Until Tressel admits that and hires one, I wont be able to stomach his garbage offense and miserable play calling.
Hopefully as bad as our offense has been this year it will force him to hire an OC. BUt then again he may be way too stubborn for that.

That is not the case. Even Meyer is building up expectations at Florida that he will never measure up to, especially if they win the NC this year.
Plus it call comes down to $$ anyway and Ohio State is one of only 10 or so schools that can afford a coach like Meyer.
