West Virginia wins this one because Duke won't be able to handle the 'Eers' defense, and it won't matter who comes out of the other bracket because WVU beats them too. I'm sure coach Huggins wants that elusive NCAA title for Mountaineer Nation. Something tells me Jerry West shows up, too, in Indy.

would love to see huggins go mafia on hawk nose, and hopefully WVU's men make Scheyer and his fellow punks cry like the wuss's they are. hopefully WVU wins the whole thing.
(maybe they could display the trophy at the Tamarack --the pride and joy of WV ----a glorified quickie mart. )

Officials may have a say in this one. Duke gets alot of calls and certainly gets away with more than other teams. (Singler's Nowitzki shuffle at least 5 times this weekend) Nonetheless I think if WVU hits the shots they win but if not they lose, that simple. Regardless of getting calls, Duke is well coached, talented, and deep and will give anyone fits right now the way they are playing.

Duke by 9

dook does shoot well, and get every call known to mankind. The block/ charge screw job that would have been zubiak's 5th and a 3 pt opportunity for Baylor was a game changer . A jr high ref could have gotten that call right. The defender slid underneath the baylor guy as the baylor guy was slicing off to his side. Strangely I thought Baylor got a favorable whistle in the 1st half but when the game was on the line it the same ol same ol.

Go WVU bring that trophy home to the tamarack. MD

I will say this because of have seen Duke a half dozen times this year and will be at the final four (yay!). Duke has a lot of size, they are difficult for any team to matchup with. Ebanks on Singler will be very interesting. If WVU zones Duke and Duke is hitting just 35% from 3 they will shot WVU right out of it. The bigs Duke brings in make Duke much more athletic. They can matchup with WVU aside from probably Scheyer on Butler. I like the other matchups and I am expecting to see more of the Plumlee's in this one. Duke is deeper and if they get the offensive boards they did in the Baylor matchup this game is over. The length of the WVU 2's and 3's scare me a little.

I like Duke in this one 72-66

BTW, that charge call did nothing. People make too big of a deal out of it. Duke went up after that charge and guess what, Baylor got the lead back 60 seconds later.

i dont expect duke to see much zone from wvu saturday night. not sure about duke being deeper. huggs will more than likely go 10 deep... starters (assuming mazz starts at point) along with thoroughman, flowers, mitchell, kilicli(sp) and pepper. could also see jennings or west.... is hard to say, so much depends on situations.

i expect a low scoring game. the 66 pts by kentucky was the must wvu given up since regular season. since tournament play started noone had scored more than 58 until last weeks regional championship.

I should clarify what I meant. Deeper, maybe not, but the quality of the people coming off the bench is better imo. The Plumlee's and Dawkins are better then Flowers, Cam, and anyone else huggy is bringing in, jmo.

This will be an interesting game.

WVU and Duke fit what I consider successful college teams in the tourny.

1- a team made up of upper classmen with good leadership
2- young talent who can contribute and NBA talent

Both teams have this.

Called a friend of mine who deals at Green Valley and he said the book at The MGM Mirage have Duke favored by 2 and Butler by 1.5. Should be mighty close games if they are right.

Truck Bryant announced this morning that he would be playing and that should have an impact on moving the line more favorable to WVU. I will checking daily with the book at the Post before making my final wager and that will probably be a parlay with the Spartans.......

11 players return from WVU's 73-67 2008 NCAA tourney's second round win over Duke. Duke was a 2 seed, WVU 7th.

Duke returns Singler, Thomas, Zoubek, Scheyer and Smith. I think Singler and Thomas were starters in that game for Duke.

WVU returns Butler, Smith, Flowers, Thoroughman, Mazulla and West. I think Butler and Smith were starters in that game for Duke.

Duke held the lead until midway through the 2nd half. WVU outrebounded Duke 47-27.

Look for a very close game.

WVU by 2.

LETS GOOOO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!
