Today, for the first time, I decided to watch a University Athletic Association battle between Rochester University and New York University. Rochester won the game 12-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play. New York University finished 12-3 overall but only 1-3 in conference play. Rochester has two players from Ohio. Josiah Knight (Lakewood St. Ed.) and Mitchell Kershner (Olentangy Liberty) They also have one player from Kentucky, T.C. Price (Lexington Catholic). Rochester had won eleven consecutive games against NYU, a streak that had lasted seven years.
With 22 points, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds, Ross Gang (Short Hills, NJ) led the winners. Ryan Algier (Fairport, NY) had 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. As for the Ohio players, Kershner started adding 5 points and 6 boards, while Knight did not see any action. The player from Kentucky had 3 rebounds and 1 point. For New York, Spencer Freedman (Pacific Palisades, CA) led the way with 16 points. Quinn Clark (Springfield, VA) pulled down 13 boards, making this the second time he has had that many this year. He had zero points.
