Chris Spielman is very deserving of this honor. A great player in high school, college and in the pros. The day of the 2002 national championship game he and Greg Frey (OSU alum and QB) were doing a radio show in the morning at the Frog Bear and Wild Boar bar and restaurant in the arena district of Columbus and they both stayed there for hours on the stage between broadcasting, talked with people, sat for pictures and signed anything you handed them. My son was almost 5 at the time and he had fun with them and still has the signed bobbleheads, hat and picture that they signed for him.

P.S. - And there was no charge for the signings or cover charge to get in. They treated everyone there just like family.

A year later, Brown became the first player in college football history to score on two consecutive punt returns during the Sept. 19 win over Michigan State. Brown electrified the crowd with a 71-yard return and followed it with a 66-yard run, leading Holtz to state of the two-time All-America, “The only way we’re going to keep the ball out of Tim Brown’s hands is if they intercept the snap from center.”

During his Heisman campaign in 1987 – the first ever by a wide receiver, Brown totaled 1,847 all-purpose yards with seven touchdowns, including 846 receiving yards and 857 return yards. His efforts would also earn him the Walter Camp Award.

Following his decorated senior season, the Los Angeles Raiders selected Brown as sixth overall draft pick. During his rookie season, Brown set the NFL rookie record for all-purpose yards (2,317), which he still holds today. During the 1988-89 NFL season, Brown also led the league in kickoff returns, return yards and yards per return average.

A member of the NFL 1990’s All-Decade team, Brown was named to the Pro Bowl nine times. He set an NFL record with 75 receptions in 10 straight seasons. In 2001, Brown became the oldest player in NFL history to score a touchdown on a kick return. When Brown retired in 2005, he finished with the second-highest total for receiving yards (14,934) in NFL history. Upon retirement, he also became the only player to have 1,600 receiving yards against four different teams (Chargers, Chiefs, Seahawks, Broncos).

Brown is now the national chairman of Athletes & Entertainers for Kids.wow gold

Fans have a variety of opportunities to meet and mingle with the enshrinees during this spectacular event. The jam-packed weekend will include a celebrity golf tournament, a fan festival, a grand parade, a youth football clinic, a fireworks spectacular with the celebration culminating with the Enshrinement Dinner & Show on Saturday evening.
