My final game last night came from the Mountain West, pitting Boise State (19-6, 9-3 Conference) against a depleted Wyoming Cowboys (7-17, 2-10 Conference). The Cowboys are down to seven scholarship players after some players quit the team, including their best two. This game should not have been as close as it was, even though it was never in doubt. Boise State connected on 52.9% of its shots from the field, while the Cowboys came bucking in at 46%. All five of the starters for the Broncos finished with double-figure points, led by Tyson Degenhart (Spokane, WA). Leading the way with 20 points and 5 rebounds. None of the seven bench players for Boise State scored a point. For the new-look Cowboys, Hunter Maldonado (Colorado Springs, CO) and Jeremiah Oden (Chicago, IL)Each had 14 points.
