WVU at Pitt Friday. The 103rd meeting in the series. Pitt leads 61-38 with 3 ties. Throw out the records. Since the start of Big East play WVU leads the series 12-7 but Pitt has won 2 of the last 3 including the infamous 13-9 game in 2007. Neither team has scored over 19 points the last three years. WVU won last year 19-16 and Pitt won 2008 19-15.
Expect another low scoring game this year.
Anything can happen in this one.
2007.... 13-9. Nothing else to say.
1970... WVU coached by Bobby Bowden leads Pitt 35-8 at half time. Pitt rallies in second half and wins 35-8. oops I meant 36-35.
1975... WVU kicks a FG on final play of the game and beats a highly ranked Pitt 17-14.

If RR wasn't still in college football, I'd give the award for biggest idiot in the game to Dave Wandstadt and his horrible porn star stash.
This game is filled with great players from the past.
And underachieving players from the present.
I'm picking WVU.

Let me remind some that Dave Wannstadt won a couple of rings in Dallas as well as being the head guy in the show for the Bears...

Plus his product at Pittsburgh hasnt been exactly unsuccessful...I wont use the idiot word...but....Is Their anything more comical than the little Senator in Columbus when he becomes "fiery"...

...like when he runs down the sideline jumping around and shaking his fist in some of the 3rd and 4th quarter "titanic" struggles against the likes of Wisconsin,Penn State, and Iowa...Sorry.....The cuffs DEFINITELY do not match the collars...

November 24, 2005 – Robert Lee “Sam†Huff of Farmington, W.Va., a WVU All-American (1952-55) became the first Mountaineer to have his number (75) retired and freshman quarterback Pat White celebrated by breaking Michael Vick’s Big East Conference single game rushing record (210 yards, 2000) by running for 220 yards on 23 carries in West Virginia’s decisive 45-13 victory over Pittsburgh at Mountaineer Field. Tailback Steve Slaton joined in the fun by rushing for 179 yards (34 attempts) and scoring three touchdowns.
November 25, 2007 – After a historic Big East Conference winning wipeout of Connecticut 66-21 on November 24th, West Virginia was ranked number-one for the first time in school history in the USA Today’s Coaches Poll. An incredibly unlikely loss to Pitt combined with Coach Rodriguez‘s announcement of his leaving for Michigan shocked WVU fans but that shock turned to exultation when the Mountaineers walloped favored Oklahoma 48-28 in the January 2, 2008 Fiesta Bowl.

The idiot wandstash is the coach at pitt, and RR was a comparison for the stash's intellect.
Hence, WVU/Pitt.
WVU!

Pitt has Wandstadt, WVU has Stewart.
Hopefully, both of these coaches stay out of the way and the players on the field decide the outcome.
LETS GOOO MOUNTAINEERS!!!

2007 was not a good ending for wvu though...Gonzalez to Murphy in 1997 was awesome! We've had some bad ones too, like 1994,good game, but NO D to speak of...And the Panthers were beaten in OT.
