Valenth's Thoughts from Week 6

Post by Valenth »

Well well well...

With the lack of really Big Matchups. We thought it would be a pretty Tame Weekend of Football... BOY WAS THAT SO WRONG! Let's Break it down!

1. Did we just see the SEC implode on itself?

Vanderbilt shocks #1 Alabama
Arkansas edges #4 Tennessee
Texas A&M stomps a Mudhole in #9 Missouri

The only realistic possibility was the last one. But I NEVER thought I'd be typing that Vanderbilt defeated Alabama.. But it Happened.

2. Miami FL is still Undefeated! What?!

The Hurricanes.came back from a 4 Score Defecit to down California by 1. Wow I wish I would have stayed up for that one!

3. Teams that took care of business..

Ohio State.. Slow start but got footing and downed a decent Iowa team.
Georgia.. never seemed to get their stride. Still knocked off Auburn
Oregon... Defeated Sparty.

4. Indiana .. Am I sold on them? Maybe...

The Hoosiers became the first team in College Football to become Bowl Eligible. But let's see how they perform when they get into the meat of their schedule.

5. The BIG XII is a Toss up.

At the top we got Texas Tech, BYU and Iowa State all at 3-0
Not far behind we got Colorado and WVU at 2-0

The bottom is being represented by the true BIG XII members of Oklahoma State, Baylor and Kansas.

This conference will be fun to watch play out.

6. B1G surprises...

#10 Michigan falls to unranked Washington
And #11 USC gets bested by Minnesota

This now proves that I'm not sold on "The School up North."

7. ACC... Miami.. Clemson and then...SMU?! And don't forget Pitt!

SMU has surprised me in how they went into a hostile place like Louisville and got the W. Previous week they absolutely Destroyed Florida State.

Pitt is also playing some good ball. They are flying under the Radar!

My Top 10.. This prediction is going to be FUN! Lots of Movement!

1. Ohio State +2
2. Texas
3. Georgia +2
4. Oregon +2
5. Penn State +2
6. Alabama -5
7. Miami +1
8. Tennessee -4
9. Ole Miss +4
10. LSU +3

Mizzou, Michigan and USC all fall out of the top 10.

The reason for NOT putting Texas #1. They had a BYE Week. And Ohio State defeated Iowa convincingly who has a decent defense. Plus seeing that win over Michigan has become MUCH LESS attractive with the Wolverines past performances.

Thoughts?

Mr. Val, what else can you say? You summed the weekend up nicely.

There were some other great games without national implications. SMU over Louisville and Syracuse over UNLV. Then both Army and Navy undefeated.

Just a good weekend of college football.

Mayhem. Carnage. Expect more of this in the coming weeks.
The beauty of super conferences- not as many cupcakes. Tennessee, Georgia and Bama will eliminate each other over the coming weeks.

Michigan is a FRAUD. CHEATERS. That defense doesn't look so special when they don't know the play calling of the opponent's offense. Where is 9.5 inches???? IMO Sherrone Moore will be fired once the NCAA hands down their punishment at the end of the season. And his contract can't fight it.
Where is Stallions when you need him?

USC is still soft. Mid B1G team.

Florida State needs to fire the HC like yesterday.

Bama? Anyone home? Ouch.....took it on the chin and was physically moved around by VANDY!

My top 5:
1. Ohio State
2 Texas
3. Oregon
4. Penn State
5. Miami

Sorry SEC, but losses matter. That's why we keep score and tally wins and losses.
