Last I heard, they are going to play ball! They were rebuilding the dugouts yesterday for today's games. I was told Ironton and Portsmouth will be playing and South Point and South Webster will be playing tonight, as well as the 13-14 boys - Portsmouth and Burg - I think. The Fairland and Burg game has been moved to Tuesday.

Congratulations and Good Luck at state.Saw a lot of kids working hard all weekend trying to raise money.I was wondering what they need money for and how much.Does the league have any money to help the kids that get to advance past local games? Does the money raised at the concession stand go to the league? They serve the best Hot Dogs, well worth the climb up the hill to get one.

I've been told the league gives each team $1000 and the teams must raise the rest. I don't know what is paid for but it seems these groups have been very successful in raising funds for these types of trips in the past.

It doesnt take long to spend $1,000 when you factor in food for players and motel rooms. Wheelersburg has been fortunate in the past 10 years to consistently send several teams to the state tournaments. As a former parent, board member and district board member in LL, I appreciate the long hours people put into to the local leagues and district tournaments. Best of luck to all district 11 teams.

The 10-11 All Stars did not receive anything because they did not have to stay in hotels. I don't think that is right because it still cost just as much to feed the kids and make sure they have what they need! I feel that they are being over looked because they are the 10-11 All Stars and not the 11-12 All Stars. These kids have worked just as hard and have put in the long hours of practice just like the other kids in the other divisions have. There has been many remarks made that the 10-11 All Stars are the "B" team and those of you that have seen this team play you will agree with me they are a pretty well rounded ball club and deserve more respect than that!!!! Good Luck 9-10 Boys win it All!!!!!!
