Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
This one should be a dandy! Both teams are coming in undefeated, as Waverly just beat an undefeated Wheelersburg team by 11 on Monday evening. Chillicothe has yet to be tested, so you never know how they will react if this game is close. I look forward to a hard-fought, injury-free game! Go Tigers!

What a game two very well coached teams. Chillicothe pulls it out 46 to 40 close game throughout the big kid for waverly can play. Should be another good game when chillicothe goes down to waverly in a couple weeks.
Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
Si.., I couldn't agree with you more....it was exactly what I hoped/expected it would be. The intensity and environment was like a high school game...so cool for the kids, and thanks for the compliment on the big kid, as "Big Red" is my boy. I thought Chillicothe's pressure and physicality with our ball handlers really gave us fits in the first half. We've also never seen that kind of team speed. I thought we reacted much better in the second half, and as you said, I'm really excited to see another round when you guys visit our place. I'm never one to complain about officiating, b/c I thought they did a good job, but that charge at the end, man.....
Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
Yep I agree, those guys are not very good. Thank goodness the team fouls went Waverly's way or there could have been a riot. lol We had I think 12 to 2 in fouls but we play aggressive so fouls will come. There were questionable calls all night long. Hopefully Waverly's AD will see that when we come down there he needs to get the best officials possible. No need to have the stripe shirts decide this one. Good luck the rest of the way.
Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
Si, I agree, the number of fouls were definitely in our favor, but as you said, you guys do play very aggressive on the ball which will create those. The riot comment was a good one! I'm not sure who we'll have calling the game, but as you said, I hope they do a good job and let the kids decide it...not that I think officiating is why we lost this game. I give the young Cavs all the credit in the world...great group of kids! This should be a nice battle for many years to come.

Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
One of the better 7th grade games I have seen in awhile...big guy for Waverly down low has a very bright future for the tigers and I do not look forward to playing him on the varsity level for 4 years and the fouls were very different but Chilli plays very hard defense and thats what comes with that should've been more IMO but you could say that for both sides. The game changed on the should have been And 1 on the big boy from Waverly instead of the charge call. But very well played game by 2 very well coached and talented teams.
Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
AdamSchefter, thanks for the kind words about the boy. Hopefully, he continues working on his game and gets better. As I said, it should be another barn-burner when they come to our place.
Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
Well, round 2 tonight at Waverly...hopefully, it lives up to the last battle. The Tigers come in a little short-handed, as two starters may be out of the lineup b/c of sickness. Hopefully, the guys coming in step up and we have another great game, because the Cavs are going to come in ready to go. Go Tigers!
Re: Waverly vs. Chillicothe 7th grade boys
Well, it was another great game last night! The Tigers go down again, but they didn't go quietly. Playing the game with one starter out b/c of sickness, and another playing part-time after getting over a sickness, the Tigers couldn't get over the hump last night. They were down 8 with under 2:00 to go, and cut it to a 2 point game with about :40 to go in the ballgame. Credit the CAVS with making the plays down the stretch to pull out a big road win. These two teams will be fun to watch for years to come.

Waverly 8th grade won in OT. I don't remember the score. Very intense game.
Chillicothe had a very impressive player. I don't know his name, but he must have scored around 40 points or so. He was left handed and could score in a variety of ways. He was a menace on defense also.

The first 8th grade game at Chilli was also very good but yes he is a stud and if he continues to improve no reason he cant play or even start varsity next year.
