Nelsonville York Youth Bball Tournament

The Nelsonville York Youth Basketball Association will be hosting a youth basketball tournament Feb 11-Feb 13. There will be four divisions; boys 5th, girls 5th, boys 6th, and girls 6th. Entry Fee is $95 with a 3 game guarantee. Games will be played on full size courts. Entry forms and a copy of the rules can be obtained at our website, www.nyyb.org, or call 740-753-9034.

This is a very nice tournament! I had a team in 6th grade last year. Well run and some good competition! highly recommended.

I am coach of Warren Warrior 6th grade boys team. We played and finished 2nd to New Lexington in championship game. We played New Lex twice and they won both games by 1 point. For the tournament, it was run as well as to be expected. They used 3 man referee crews which is unheard from my standpoint. I take my team to Zanesville, Parkersburg, and other places which run fine tournaments, but this one was definitely done first class all the way. They gave team trophies and individual medals for players. They used real junior high rules. All games were on time etc. The Nelsonville personnel who ran the tournament get a big "thank you" from the Vincent Warren team. Anyone looking for a good tournament next year, I would recommend definitely.

As far as exciting, the above post was correct. There were several buzzer beaters, a few overtime games, and a lot of downright good competition. Great tournament.

Are the Washington County schools going to throw a Predators spring basketball traveling team together this year?

I do believe there will be a Predators team. It will be for 6th grade boys.
