Congrats to Wheelersburg.

I understand that Hughes has a broken arm. I hope that he gets back on the court soon....so does Kentucky Trojan, Jr.

The Pirates have plenty of talent to replace him though in the short term.

Speaking of Kentucky Trojan, Jr...he scored 20 points in a 7th grade victory over Powell County tonight. Conkwright's 7th grade record is now 5-3.

He also scored 7 points in the 8th grade victory over Powell County this evening.

Conkwright's 7th grade team is now 6-3 following last night's victory over Nicholas County.

Kentucky Trojan, Jr. had 9 points in the win. He was 4 of 5 shooting from the field with 1 for 1 shooting behind the arc.

Conkwright's 8th grade team lost in a close game. KT, Jr. scored 4 points in the defeat.

Tough to play 4 full games in back-to-back nights...

Going into the break the teams standing out is Wheelersburg 7th and 8th, Waverly's 7th and 8th. Portsmouth 8th and Clay 8th grade. Wheelersburg plays Waverly and Portsmouth after break should be some good ball! Clay played Wheelersburg last year in the tournament and was up by 20 at the half only to lose the lead and the game but there is some good players on both teams. Northwest 7th grade played burg pretty close. I have also heard the 7th grade Fairland team was good. Is there any schools i'm missing?

Northwest 8th played Wheelersburg close to in first half. Same as when they played Waverly, second half/third quarter was their downfall. Wheelersburg and Waverly are very well coached team. I see coach Rice at Northwest is doing fabulous job and good things for future there at NW if they can keep him.

Chillicothe 7th 70 Miami Trace 7

Chillicothe 8th lost by twenty

In five games so far Chillicothe 7th has won 48 - 9 Logan, 58 - 14 Gallia, 71 - 9 Eastern, 58 - 13 Vinton County,70 - 7 Miami Trace

If I have the scores right they have scored 305 to 52. Not to bad.

If they are so good, why are they not playing up on the 8th grade team?

Si...,

I've been hearing a lot of good things about that Chillicothe 7th grade group. I'm excited for our match-up on the 9th (Waverly). Our kids haven't been tested yet, but we play Wheelersburg on the 7th of January, and then you guys on the 9th...that will be a tough week, and I'm anxious to see how we stack up. Good luck to you guys!

Thanks.

How many of the 7th graders should be in 8th grade "age-wise"?

How many kids do you have that should technically be in the 8th or 9th grade?
