I know that in the 7th grade it's Eastern, Western, Jackson, Portsmouth, and Waverly...not sure about 8th grade.

Wow, a 4-team tourney...yipeee! It's a shame that the SOC is so pitiful when it comes to organizing their junior high sports programs. No league championships, no league tourneys....NADA! The SVC is light-years ahead of us in this regard.

Why doesn't Webster invite Waverly to their tournament? Did Waverly make them mad in the past or something and they are holding a grudge? Did Waverly ever play in the county tourament when it was at Valley? I agree, the SOC should have a tournament like the SVC, gets the kids the experience of a tournament before they reach high school.

As a follower of my home school, Clay, I always wondered why we were the only small school in the tournament at Webster. I asked our coach about it several years ago and he said that the AD had 4 teams to place in tournaments and South Webster was the only one that had all 4 levels. After seeing this years brackets on another thread, it appears we only have 2 boys teams playing now. I guess a SOC II tournament and SOC I tournament might make more sense, but will it happen, who knows. It's closer to home for Waverly to play at Eastern anyway, that might be a major reason for not traveling the distance.

Travel shouldn't be the issue, teams travel during the regular season. A few extra games shouldnt break you. I would love to see a SOC tournament. and as far as having two separate tournaments, the small schools used to play in the tournament at Webster. I remember green making it to the championship game a few times. They even finished one game with 4 players if im not mistaken.

Looks like some good teams playing in the tournament. Did waverly play Portsmouth and/or Jackson in the regular season? How did they do against them?

I have not seen Jackson play, but i have seen Waverly and Portsmouth both. Should be a great match up between the two if they were to meet up.

They're playing each other again??

I'm curious as to how this tournament was bracketed.
