Waverly avenged the earier loss to Minford when Will Futhey went down by beating the Falcons 39-25 tonight.

Very nice win for the Tigers tonight. Nobody has beaten them when healthy. Basketball is a game of guards. Minford has a lot of size for a junior high team but Waverly is so tough because of Robertson and Stulley. The future is very very bright for Waverly!

Yes indeed. It would be nice to get a couple of the kids back next year who didn’t play 8th grade this year.

I am sure Penn Morrison is going to focus on Tennis. It would be nice to get back Cai Marquez.

Penn is a heck of a tennis player of course. I'm hearing he would like to play QB in high school. He throws a really nice ball...and he's crafty, intelligent and athletic. We're going to have several kids who can play QB the next few years. That's a good thing :)

Tigers 7th Grade & 8th Grade teams are playing in the Championship games of the Logan tournament Saturday, February 17.
8th grade controlled and beat a very good Meigs team last night. They will be playing Logan.

Was that the first loss ever in Jr. High for the Meigs 8th grade team? Being hearing about them for a couple years now.

Logan 8th is really good also. I believe they took Waverly to OT earlier this year. Who does the Waverly 7th play in the finals? Waverly 8th plays at 7:00 not sure about the 7th grade time. It's either at 1:00 or 2:00.

I believe so. I think Meigs was 18-0 last year and undefeated this year. Pretty sure they trounced Logan last year at least once...maybe not, all the games get confusing lol.

Logan had their chance to beat Waverly at Rio. Wade Futhey had about 17 and couldn’t miss and Will wasn’t 100% but grabbed a huge offensive rebound off a missed free throw in that game. Trey wasn’t on fire like usual but did hit a big 3 in OT and did his thing. Logan had close shot after close shot but just kept badly missing them IMO to the Will factor. Logan May have the best coach I’ve seen all season.

I just don’t think Logan has the quickness to beat Waverly. Myers is a great great player and going to be an incredible varsity player down the road. They have a solid team for sure but I just think Waverly is 10-15 points better. I really think Waverly could Press them and give them trouble/wear them down.

Could be a really good game but guessing Waverly controls it.

Ironman92: Thanks for the info and analysis of the match-up vs Logan. It will be interesting to see how this games plays out. Does Jackson 8th grade have any games left to play?

No problem, yes we finished up Monday at Chillicothe due to a coin toss I hear. They beat us in the last minute to end both of our seasons. Their coach has done a great job. They have really improved from last season and throughout this season.

Big boy ball next season, should be fun!

Waverly vs Logan 8th grade championship game scheduled for 7:00 this evening is canceled due to the weather.
Waverly 7th grade trailed Logan 23-17 at halftime.

I was from Jackson to Columbus today, never really got bad above Circleville but was very bad Jackson to near Chillicothe, but then cleared pretty good. Probably a good decision.

Are they going to play it tomorrow or some other time?
