11U TBS National Rankings Update – 6/5/2012

TravelBallSelect.com updates its 2012 weekly rankings of the 11U’s top 25 teams across the USA.

TEAM NAME – CITY/ST – RECORD

1). Oakley Stingrays Green (Norwalk, CA) moves to the top spot. This is as close as we have seen in years. The Stingrays played against local 12U teams this weekend going 2-0 in preparation for the USSSA So Cal State Championships coming up this week. Last week, they finished 2nd Place at the power packed So Cal Memorial Day Super NIT. By our tally, their record in major tournament events now stands at 71-17-1 with many of their losses coming against quality 12U teams.

2). Team MVP (Ft Lauderdale, FL) tales the #2 spot this week. The M.V.P. are listed as going 1-3 to finish 5th Place in USSSA’s Florida Undisputed Championship held in Plant City this past weekend. They were missing all but 1 of their 11U starters. The balance of that roster were 10 year olds. This week, the M.V.P. 11U’s will return intact to compete in USSSA’s South State Championships coming up in Tamiami, Florida. This event is part of their preparation for the AAU Nationals coming up June 24th and the Travelball™ National Championship starting July 11th.

3). MCBC Hit Dogs (Macomb, MI) rested this week. They continue to share the #4 spot. Last week, they went 6-0 to win the Michigan Memorial Day Super NIT. That marked their 5th straight major tournament win. Their record stands at 32-3-1 after a late start on the spring 2012 season.

4-Tie). Evoshield Canes (Triangle, NC-aka Carolina Cubs in 2011) moves from #3. They went 2-2 playing 12U Top Gun this week. Their record stands at 58-13 with 11 of their losses coming in 12U Majors class events.

4-Tie). Team Miami (Miami, FL) did not play, but holds at #4. In their last major outing, they went 4-0 to win the South Florida Memorial Day Qualifier. They also recently wrapped up play in the Tamiamia league going 26-2 to win that league championship this past week. Their USSSA record now stands at 35-10 with 3 tournament wins plus 4 “Runner-Up” finishes. Combine that with their play in Tiamiami League and they are approaching an impressive 65 wins. They will be playing PONY League leading up to heading to Atlanta for the Travelball™ National Championship.

5). East Cobb Astros (Marietta, GA) returned to action this week, going 5-0 to win the East Cobb 2012 Tournament of Champions. They hold the #5 spot. Their overall record is 54-12-1. They have won 7 tournaments with 2 runners up, and two 3rd place finishes.

6). Bullets Gold (Tampa, FL) took a week of rest. They recently went 5-0 to win the USSSA Florida State Championship. They hold at #6. Their record holds at 57-17 with 6 tournament wins.

7). BPA Rawlings Elite holds the #7 spot. They recently finished 2nd at the XDS Cinco De Mayo. By our tally, their record stands at 30-13-1 in Triple Crown, USSSA, and XDS action. This record excludes local event play.

8-Tie). Banditos Black (Houston, TX) moves from #7 after going 3-1 to finish 5th Place at the Louisiana Govenor’s Games XIV this past weekend. This follows their 2nd Place finish at the Nations Texas Invitational the prior week. By our estimates, their record currently stands at 44-11-4 with 6 tournament wins in Nations, Triple Crown, and USSSA play.

8-Tie). Kings Baseball (Woodlands, TX) continues to rocket to the top 10. This team is Red Hot. They went 5-1 to win the 2012 Govenor’s Games XIV this week in Su1pur, Louisiana winning the rematch against Bullets Baseball. They are 47-16 in Nations, Triple Crown, and USSSA play.

9-Tie). Texas Nationals Force (Houston, TX) moves from #7. They took some punchs this week while playing up in the Nations 12U Premier School’s Out where they went 1-3 to finish 5th. This follows recent wins at the May 19th Nations RBI Showdown and the May 5th Texas Super NIT. Their combined record in Nations and USSSA play now stands at 55-13-2 with 6 major tournament wins including 2 Super NIT’s and 1 Runner-Up Finish.

9-Tie). Sandlot All-Stars Black (Chandler, AZ) holds at #9. They have not played in elite travel tournaments since their impressive performance at the 12 Major USSSA Best of the West. They finished 2nd place going 2-1-1. By our tally, their record in elite tournament play stands at 45-10. They have 5 tournament wins including 1 Super NIT.

10-Tie). PSA Worth Sox Red (Ridgeland, MS) did not play, but holds at #10 after an impressive win at the May 18th Alabama Super NIT. They also won the March 31st Sandlot Spring Lead-Off Super NIT. By our tally, their record is 44-10 with 6 tournament wins including 2 Super NIT’s.

10-Tie). Alabama Outlaws (Alabaster, AL) did not play, but holds at #10. They recently finished 2nd Place in the Alabama Super NIT. That followed their win at the Mid South Super NIT. Their record is 40-9-1 with 6 tournament wins including two Super NIT wins.

11-Tie). Rawlings Pico Elite (San Gabriel Valley, CA) holds at #12 after going 3-2 to finish a strong 4th Place at the So Cal Super NIT. This follows going 4-0 to win the May 19th Nomads Elite Invitational. The Pico Elite have consistently performed well in major, power packed tournaments, finishing 3rd at the Thanksgiving Super NIT, 4th at the MLK Super NIT, and 2nd at the Arizona Spring Super NIT. Next up, BPA will be competing in the USSSA State Championships coming up this weekend.

11-Tie). Nomads Elite (Garden grove, CA) holds at #12 after finishing 3rd Place at the power packed So Cal Memorial Super NIT. This follows going 3-1 to finish 2nd Place at their hosted Elite Invitational this week. They lost a close heartbreaker to the PICO Elite in the title game. Their big tournament wins this season includes the MLK Super NIT and the Triple Crown Nationals.

12-Tie). LIDS Indiana Bulls (Indianapolis, IN) moves from #11 after taking going 2-1 to take an early exit at the 11U Ohio Super NIT. This follows going 7-0 for their big win at the KC Memorial Day Super NIT. They recently finished 2nd at the USSSA 12U Flames Bash and went 4-1 to take 2nd Place at the Tennessee Super NIT. They are now 46-3 after getting a late start in 2012 season play.

12-Tie). Lamorinda Spartans(Moraga, CA) did not play, but holds at #12. Their record stands at 54-18-2 with 5 tournament wins including 1 Super NIT plus 4 Runner-Up finishes.

13). SY Titans (Santa Ynez, CA) continue to play locally in preparation for the California State Championships coming up this weekend. They hold at #13 They finished 2nd at the Nor Cal Spring Super NIT and won the Nor Cal Presidents Day Super NIT.

14). KC Sluggers (Kansas City, MO) holds at #14. They took the week off after going 5-2 with a strong 2nd Place finish at the KC Memorial Day Super NIT. In their last elite tournament appearance, they went 3-1 at the Mid South Super NIT. That followed their win at the 12U USSSA Global Clash. Their record holds at 43-8-1. They have won 9 of their 14 tournament appearances.

15). SC Mayhem (Santa Clarita, CA) did not play, but holds at #15 after going 5-0 to win the So Cal USSSA Memorial Day Super NIT with an impressive title win of #2 ranked Oakley Stingrays. This marks their second win over the Stingrays this season. By our tally, they are 25-5 since Jan 1st in USSSA and XDS Play.

16-Tie). South Florida Stealth (Coral Springs, FL) holds at #16. They finished 4th at USSSAFPBL Spring League championships. They recently finished as a strong 3rd at the South Florida Super NIT. They finished 5th at the Sandlot Spring Lead-Off Super NIT. They won the March Madness NIT. Their current record is 50-14 with 5 tournament wins plus 3 Runner-Up finishes. They play in one of the toughest travel circuits in the country.

16-Tie). Brett Bros. Baseball (Shawnee Mission, KS) moves from Honorable Mention into the top 20 this week. They have compiled a 2-4 record in USSSA action and have 3 impressive tournament wins. They recently finished 3rd at the KC Memorial Day Super NIT.

17). So Cal United (Chino Hills, CA) holds at #17 after finishing 5th place at the power packed So Cal Memorial Day Super NIT. They recently played up and went 3-0 to win SCS Baseball’s 12U Memorial Warm-up tournament this past weekend. By our tally, their record is 40-115-1 with 3 tournament wins plus 1 Runner-Up finish. Next up, they will be competing in the USSSA State Championships coming up this week in Southern California.

18-Tie). STL Prospects (St. Louis, MO) moves up from #20. They went 4-0 to win the won the USSSA Team Illini Classic. This marks their 4th straight tournament win. Last week, they went 5-1 to win the Rawlings Gold Glove Games. They finished as solid “Runner-Up” at the May 11th Mid South Super NIT. Their record now stands at 36-12.

18-Tie). SIII Hustlers (Corpus Christi, TX) holds at #18. They played up with the 12U’s last week and went 1-1-1 at the Deep South State Tournament. Their overall record in both Nations and USSSA is 41-14-2 with 7 tournament wins along with 4 Runner-Up finishes.

19). Tennessee Legends (Thompson’s Station, TN) holds at #19. They took a couple of punches last week while playing up with the 12AAA’s. Their overall season record is 42-10-2.

20-Tie). Cave Run Muskies (Morehead, KY) moves from Honorable Mention into the top 20. Since January 2012, they have compiled a record of 38-4 with 4 tournament wins while playing BPA, Triple Crown, and USSSA events. Since August 2011, their record is 56-6.

20-Tie). Mississippi Athletics Gold (Jackson, MS) holds at #20. They recent went 2-1-1 to finish 4th at the Battle of the Best Global Qualifier. Their record stands at 39-9-2 with 3 tournament wins plus 2 Runner-Up finishes.

21-Tie). Team Mizuno (Houston, TX) moves from #20. They went 2-2 to finish 4th at the Nations Texas Invitational. By our tally, their record stands at 38-17 while playing Nations, Triple Crown, and USSSA.

22-Tie). Team Combat (Orlando, FL) holds at #22 after finishing 2nd at the USSSA Undisputed Championships this week. This follows going 3-1 to finish 3rd at the Florida State Championships last week. Their record in USSSA now stands at 50-30.

22-Tie). Missouri Gators (St. Louis, MO) moves from #22 after taking a couple of punches at the USSSA Team Illini Classic this week. This follows finishing 3rd at the Rawlings Gold Glove. Their record now stands at 45-10 with 6 of their 7 losses coming against 12u teams.

23). Arkansas Mighty Ducks (Henderson, NV) did not play, but holds at #23. In their last outing, they went 2-2 at the Hum Baby Memorial Classic. This follows a solid performance going 4-1 to finish 3rd at the Mid South Super NIT. They finished 2nd at the 12AA River Valley Invitational going 4-1. This brings their season record to 32-9-1 in USSSA action.

24). Team Booya (Salinas, CA) holds at #24. They recently went 4-0 to win the Nor Cal State Qualifier. Their big win this season was at the Nor Cal Spring Super NIT where they edged past the #12 ranked Lamorinda Spartans to take a 7-5 title win. Their USSSA record holds at 24-12 with most of their losses coming against 12U teams.

25). Weston Black Hawks (Weston, FL) did not play, but holds at #25. In their last outing, they went 2-1 to finish 5th at the Florida USSSA Memorial. Their most recent win was the April 26th Tamiami Spring Bash. Their record holds at 42-19 with 4 tournament wins plus 5 Runner-Up finishes.

2012 Ripken Experience 11U Championship - 3rd Place Finish
.

The Cave Run Muskies finish 3rd out of 31 teams at the 2012 Ripken Experience 11U Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Muskies went 7-1 for the week beating teams from Florida, New York, Virginia, Massachusetts, Michigan and more. The Muskies won their pool during the week by going 5-0, then advance all the way to the semi-finals eventually falling to Team Worth from Florida.
