Re: RIVER BOWL
I like the concept of the league winners, but it could possibly be opened up to both league champ and runner up.In the o.v.c. there is a league champ, and a superbowl champ. The records for the season are used to determine each teams seed in the playoffs. There is a good chance that the league champ may not win the super bowl,so would each team get the invitation to compete in the bowl?Just a little food for thought!

Re: RIVER BOWL
How would this affect the start of basketball practice for the local pee wee teams?
Playing in November with this age kids is a bit of a stretch, I think.
These kids playing longer than most high school teams is a stretch as well.
By the time that time of the season rolls around the kids have been playing too long and many are burned out and ready for a change. (basketball)
To me, there are too many individual leagues, Teen OVC, TSYFL and I don't know how many ky leagues there are involved but who comes up with who should represent which state/league. I don't think it would be an Ohio bracket and KY bracket because, I think, the TSYFL has WV teams, doesn't it?

Re: RIVER BOWL
Teen o.v.c. has it's superbowl on 10-25,so your looking at extending the season by one week.Probably they only way to pull this together to make it happen would be get together with a rep from each league or possibly with each team to see who would be interested in playing. From there you could begin to figure out how it would be bracketed and who is planning on playing. Also you could come to common ground on the rules that would govern the tourny. There is still quite a bit of leg work to be completed to make this happen, but if a meeting could be set up it would cut alot of the leg work out.I think this would be an awesome event to crown a team as the tri-state champ!

TSYFL SuperBowl winner and runner up.
OVC SUperbowl Winner and runner up.
Since KY does not have a league yet, it would prolly be the team with the best record that plays everybody. Then second. We can not get everybody on the same page over here becasue we all do it different. Ashland just plays inter-league and nothing outside until 7th grade. Russell, Boyd, Greenup Greysbranch, Greenup McKell and Lawrence County all play each otherat the 6th grade level only and not before. Raceland picks and choose who they play outside the schools they usually play. They have not set a game with us this year. That may still work out.
RUSSELL does not play anyone outside their inter league until 6th grade and the younger kids get about 3 weeks at the end of the season to come together.
I will tell you that the Russell Coach will be in.
So it looks like Ky would be the hardest league to decide who would go.
Once we decideon this I have something else to talk about,,,,,,,,,

Lets get the ball rollin on this baby.Get in contact with a rep from each league and set up the hosting team and the guidelines for which it will be ran.The above mentioned rules are fine. The only thing is to finalize all the little things.

Re: RIVER BOWL
Hey we dont care to play in MARSHALL STADIUM either, that would be good for the boys. I know that Kentucky Christian University has offered to hold the bowls at their place when the stadium is finished next year. Tha could be the Kentucky Host.
South Point in the TSYFL ???????????? Dont they have turf?????? That would be good too.
PM me here to talk about the TRI-State BOWL. I am in and lets get this started.
I can get the coaches from this side of the river in on this.
So these are the three rules to go by that covers the 3 states????
Then we should be good.

Re: RIVER BOWL
I can talked with the folks in the o.v.c. this weekend.I am almost certain that there will be a team/teams to rep the o.v.c.Are we going with the league champ and the superbowl champ,if they are differnet teams or the superbowl champ and the runner up?Let me know so i can pass the word along and see if there is interest. From our end this is just for a- team only,is that correct?Do you want me to try to find a o.v.c. team that is willing to host this?I can talk to some people tonight about acquiring a turf field. If we could land Marshall i think that would be the best host site, that would be a great experience for the young men to play on that field.
Re: RIVER BOWL
I think Marshall would be an excellent choice!!! If not and you need a turf field Coal Grove would host if you want. I am excited to see this all come together for the area. Are we going to invite the Scioto teams also? I saw a thread about them and that may be a contact or a way to get a contact.

looks like you guys and ladies are getting somewhere with this; keep it rolling and this could be a great thing.
Re: RIVER BOWL
do we have a date yet? what about a venue? Does anyone in the tsyfl know who would need to be contacted in order to schedule with Marshall to get the stadium and if there is a charge and how much? We are now heading into week 3 of our season and before long the season will be half over. We need to keep on this if we are going to get it planned. I will help in any way possible just pm me or post on here.

Re: RIVER BOWL
There has been a date set,and i think that it was the week after teen o.v.c. superbowl, which would be on Nov.2nd.Still waiting on a reply from scioto county,I have placed multiple calls with no return. If nothing is heard from them in the next few days we will move forward with this.I think we have narrowed this down to a couple of hosting sites,to be announced when we find out about Marshall. This is going to happen,it is actually in the final stages of planning!!!!!!!!!

Re: RIVER BOWL
are the teams going to have to reweigh on the day of the game or are we going to take each leagues official weigh in?
