Re: Russell 5/6th grade schedule
I am personally glad that the o.v.c. doesn't play that many games.Unless you make the playoffs the high school teams play less than that!Playing games on 3-4 days rest would be awfully scary for me,I like for the kids to have a little healing time!

Re: Russell 5/6th grade schedule
I would usually agree but look at this....
30 kids, sometimes the kids only play 1/2 a game. so cut them in half. Last year the 6th grade only had 6 games total. 4 of those were with Coal Grove. Alot of their games were cancelled, by people calling at the last minute. I do know that the coach who scheduled these games did so in a way that it allows everyone to play. There are 3-6 games on there that the non-starters will play. This allows everyone to play every game. It is almost like having 2 teams and splitting, like Rock Hill, but being able to have everyone at one practice and being able to cover the same stuff for everyone to learn. Then you can set a team for who you play.
I can forsee the starting team playing 6 more games in the regular season. That would give us 12 games....Anyway, it may look like a lot to put on kids but they all play together.....
I know Belfry's schedule looks like this and they have 1 team that plays every game. I think they play every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Re: Russell 5/6th grade schedule
I THINK I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SEVERAL MORE GAMES TO OUR SCHEDULE BECAUSE AT THIS AGE GROUP HAVINGH GAME IS AS GOOD AS HAVING PRACTICE. THEY HIT AS HARD IN PRACTICE AS THEY DO A GAME SO MIGHT AS WELL PLAY A GAME.
