Re: BEST DEFENCE
the GROVE is wandering how they match up with the better teams around, we got a good win against a real good team out on the hill and would like to see if we can hold our own against the best team in the area, so if russell can get together on the 30th,the 6th or even the 7th contact us. Hope to see you soon .

Re: BEST DEFENCE
Alright.. I will do this again.
With a schedule like this does it look like I am looking for games?????
I asked Ironton to scrimmage, I asked Fairland to Scrimmage, I asked Raceland to scrimmage... These are teams that we dont see all year.. And I say again...VERY LOUD AND CLEAR !!!!!! When you post responses like. "heard you guys were looking for games, want to play or not..CG"
It sounds like an ultimatum, or that I am begging or something.. The truth is.. I try to teach my kids and give them opportunity to improve.. I do that by playing teams that offer challenges......I scrimmaged CG in our GRID and then I played you guys the following week in round one of the Orange Bowl and call that game a scrimmage too or what ever. The fact is to beat a team 2or 3 times a year is not the outcome we look for in our program.. I have 30 kids or so and they get to play every game..... As you know by playing at Raceland,, all of my kids play BOTH sides of the ball. My second offense goes in after 2 scores.. THEY ALL GO IN.... as I did against Rock Hill, Symmes Valley and Coal Grove. My object is to retain kids so that they can produce the next year.. Teach them and improve them daily....... Playing a team 3 times a year just for the fact that you want another chance to beat us is rediculous... Give it a break.... I asked these other schools to scrimmage becasue they either called me or emailed me.... This is called improving kids... not seeing who can beat who.... Posted below is my schedule,, some games are double games with A and B playing back to back.... And Like I tried to make clear,, everyone of my kids play in every game... But the other game is to provide increased opportunity for the kids who dont start..........
So if the post was meant to cause a ruckus, then I would say that it caught my attention.. So since i am running out of room on here I will post the stats for the team inthe next one.

Re: BEST DEFENCE
If I was in this to win and only play for a victory I would not have stats like this on these kids..
Russell Red Devil 5/6th grade- "MAROON MACHINE"!!!!!!!
#2 Connor Messer- 78 rushes, 1419 yards, 12 for 16=187 yards passing,148 receiving yards= 1754 all purpose yards.
#32 Brawny Korzep- 65 rushes for 755 yards, 6 for 6= 187 yards passing, 139 yards receving= 1081 all purpose yards.
#9 Bobby May- 20 rushes for 63 yards. 11 for 16= 167 yards passing, 18 yards receving= 248 all purpose yards.
#57 Logan Suman- 31 rushes for 111 yards,8 yards receving. 119 all purpose yards.
#7 Spencer Cole- 29 rushes for 399 yards.
#25 Jordan Stephens- 17 carries for 108 yards.
#27 Maverick Dixon- 80 receiving yards.
#24 Will Peterman-10 rushes for 75 yards,
#85 Jacob Bryant- 6 carries for 85 yards, 100 yards receiving.
#8 Garion Robinson- 48 receiving yards.
These are A game stats so far.. It is not counting the second games with teams, as these games are used to improve the fundamentals of players....
My 2 leading rushers are within 2 carries a game of each other. I limit what the run and how many times they carry, and if we go up by 14 points the starters come out to give the second team playing time. The starters will play the first series or 2 of the third quarter and if they score and we are up by 21-28.. They will not play offense the rest of the game unless a team comes back to a 14 point spread...then we re-adjust.....
I am not making excuses or trying to keep from playing you,, what will loose if I play you and loose???? A LOSS On the record???? So what I already have one this year, so it is not like I am trying to pad the win-loss record.......
So I may be reading more into the post than you intended,, and if I did I apologize.... But is just seems like you are measuring your season by beating us.... If that is the truth,, I will take that as a compliment and my kids will like to hear it.
Just remember that the Black Bowl is around the corner and I am sure that you will get your chance,,,,, OH but will that be a game or just another scrimmage??? Just wondering..

Re: BEST DEFENCE
I am going to be as nice as possible on this......I know that alot of the posts on here are just to get someones goat,, or get them fired up so here are the facts....
I may have a couple of open dates to pick up,, and if I choose to pick up someone to play..... It is going to be a team that wants to work on developing their kids too. So say what you want on here,,,, It appears the laws of commercialism are in my favor......
I have open dates if I want to pick up,, my choice I guess,,, I have played this team 2 times,,,,
I think I am finished.......
Good luck with the rest of the season and I wish your kids the best.......
I need to get back to keeping stats.....

Re: BEST DEFENCE
Give the Devil a break....
The post was started by a CG fan asking who had the best defense.....well, of course if anyone says anybody but CG, they are going to get called on it. CG has an awesome defense, but everyone has a bad day. These boys are learning out there on that field and you need to give each and everyone one of them the credit they deserve, no matter how many wins or losses they have. This is their game.......not yours!

Re: BEST DEFENCE
I believe you were being provoked into making a response. I think backnblack was trying to make the point that neither team is the same as they were preseason and he would be interested to see if we could compete after we have both had some more time and experience under our belt. I think we will have that opportunity at the end of the year like you said , at the black bowl or the river bowl. It will be good to see the matchup to see how much both teams have improved throughout the year. Good luck with the rest of your season and hope to see you at the river bowl meeting!

Yes I am sure that we will meet again... Thanks for your post and understanding..... I am sure that CG has improved but with a team like you have it would be hard to improve much,, You guys have a good team to begin with,, and yes good luck this season....
