If Mckee can't make the waverly team then he must suck. West beat them by at least 50 points twice last year. Waverly will be as bad as they were last year. they will be worse if Mckee makes the team no doubt about it.

Would really have liked to have seen Waverly do some team stuff this summer, I saw the whole Piketon team at Rio this past camp and only saw a couple of 8th graders no 7th graders and I think 3 from younger kids from waverly and that was dissipointing. The mckee boy is 6'3 and probably shouldnt have been cut from last yrs team in my opinion though he would have been a project and if he wants to play this yr should have been in camps like rio grandes learning how to play. AAU ball is very important and you will see the better teams and players playing in these tournaments and leagues, its called commitment and I havent seen it from the waverly kids in the classes coming up like this yrs 7th and 8th grade class.

I think commitment starts with the coaching staff and works its way down. There is nothing organized at Waverly for these young men to take part in. There are team camps available, summer leagues, etc. but the coaches do not organize anything for the kids to play together. I know (as i took them) that 2 kids on the 7th grade team made the commitment to play in the mcgraw league, some aau tournaments with some kids from the mid state league, and attended Lebron James camp in Akron in which one waverly seventh grader earned player of the week honors, MVP of the tournament, free throw champion, and won a shooting contest. That stuff didn't happen without a lot of work being put in. There are kids, parents, and uncles as myself trying to make a commitment to allow the kids to reach their maximum potential but to make a good program its got to be a commitment from Travis on down the line.

Valley has a very good team this year capable of doing many things with a lineup of JJ Hettinger 6'4 or 6'5 Will Howard 6'2 or 6'3 Matt Rawlins 5'11 or 6'0 Scott Adkins 5'11 and Jacob Darland 5'9 or 5'10 and the bench Brandon Jordan 5'7 or 5'8 Gabe Large 5'5 Kyle Delotell 5'7 or 5'8 Cole Delotell 5'9 or 5'10 and Quint Walker 5'2 or 5'3 all very good players and looking to win this year with a coach that will try to make them go all the way. The team has many good things for people to watch for as this season goes on.

excuse me ''west sider'' but waverly did not get beat by 50 either time against portsmouth west.
& portsmouth west is a decent team with a couple decent players but since you are so obviously a member of the team... i figured you would like to know the fact that waverly is 3-0 so far in scrimmages & their preview.
so we will see who is better head to head on the hardwood!!
