First of all there are many good athletes on the 8th grade team. You can't win a ball game if you give the SAME kid the BALL every single play. There are alot of tall and fast kids on that team who will definately be starting in High School. Maybe not as Freshman but as Sophmores. Hopefully the right coaches will see the talent of some of the kids and play them so they can win some games.

Actually, I do think we may see a couple of Freshman start for Waverly next year. However, I don't understand what does height have to do with catching the football. Look at Kevin Malone!! He's one of the best if not the best who started as a Freshman.
Height really has nothing to do with football. It is a plus for a QB but definitely not to "catch the ball." Too much hype is put on "catch the ball." You have to know where to run once you catch the ball. Some of the best Freshman prospects for next year, won't be tall and skinny. They'll be playing the Line!! Waverly has enough already to catch the ball. Right now, they need a little more beef. Next year, they'll get some welcome additions. Next year, there are some who will be Freshman that need to learn, there is never "a hero." They are all heroes. Football is a team sport.

there is only 1 8th grader on this team who will get playing time maybe ( the Dyke boy) but no starters unless something amazing happens. And Dylan is just 13 so I just dont know if that is something they would want to do to him.

I agree on the Dyke boy being able to play some but I don't think that he will start varsity, at least not in the first couple of weeks. If Waverly's season goes south quicker than this years did, than I would expect to see him on O-line. He will probably get enough time next year to letter but I really don't see him starting unless things go ugly.

...didn't mean that in a bad way...but there is little truth in that...the boy's good but no better than the other linemen who saw play time this year...

Well it will probably come down to how they all progress, and if you take into account body frames Dylan has this in his favor just a natural linemans frame he is going to end up 6-3 6-5 weight will be what he decides to carry, the weight room in off season conditioning will be a big factor on how much action he sees next yr, its not always about who was the best but who will be the best and imo Dylan has the potential physically to be the best out of that group now if that happens we will see... I don't think any of the lineman played great last yr they had their moments just not a lot of them, and there was a couple sitting on the sidelines who should have been getting some reps just from their sheer size to get them ready for high school ball jmo.
