actually no its not. bc 2 of the 5 starters didnt get held back. (tyler collier, dustin parsley)
and the rest of the team is 6 and 7 men.
ive been at practice and alot of the team is stepping up.
we also have a few players that didnt play 8th grade year but did in 7 grade year. plus there also more older, mature than the freshmen team.

well first of all.
1.moore,farmer,bowman,and robinson all got held back not for academic reasons, but just because the dads of these kids were mad that they're kids couldnt win a football game their 8th grade year.
so they got put in a grade where they can compete with kids 2-3 years younger than them.

2. brabson is a little overated.
i mean if he is so good then how come he didnt get a scholarship his 8th grade year just like the kid whose going to kentucky did when he was in the 8th grade. i mean if hes as good as everybody makes him out to be.

he plays sloppier than a 3 year old eating spagetti.

Man... you should have seen P. West's 7th grade team. They have tons of talent. I don't think anyone came within 8 points of them. They murdered burg and when they played some other teams in the portsmouth tourney they crushed them. Can't wait to see them play this year as an 8th grade team! GOOD LUCK WEST 8th GRADE! To everyone else WATCH OUT!! :o and be prepared.

What are you talking about? Last year's 7th grade boys team? They got spanked twice by Burg last year. I won't take away from any talent they may have but get your facts straight before you post next time. :?

and this is another insult to Eastern's junior high team that can probably give you guys a good run for you money they were 15-1 last year and they didnt even play their best or hardest and that one lost was without their star player Chad Lands actually they won most games without him because he was playin on the 8th grade team and dont insult them or me cause i was on that team we were only expected to win one game and we won 8 however thats not tho point you sayin Eastern is bad by sayin that he aint good enough to play for Piketon by sayin he came to Eastern to play so your sayin that tho our team was pretty much undefeted that you guys are that much better and that was without them tryin trust me i know what they can do when they play their hardest.

NO.. not the boys. THE GIRLS! They can play some tough basketball.
(Ignorning your comment.)
The girls killed burg like 40-10 the first game, then the second game I think 34-18.
Not one team came near them. I believe their closest game was 8 points.

I think that the 8 point game will be even closer this year between West and Minford 8th grade girls. Good luck to both. You are both good ball teams.

Oops! My bad...and my apologies! It's hard to distinguish which we are talking about when the forum covers both girls and boys in one topic or thread. Carry on....nothing to see here. :)
Trent Arey has to be considered as one of the best individual players in the 8th grade this year in our area. Peebles has a nice overall team and has been well-coached all the way up and play together as a team, but Arey is going to be a good one to watch. He plays hard and is very athletic. He can flat-out jump, just like his dad did several years ago!!
Peeblesbuck- I heard that Arey had surgery and will be out for quite awhile, missing all of December? Any truth to that rumor?

The Arey boy will be out for Peebles for a little while. He will miss the scrimmage this weekend at Piketon as will another starter who will be out of town. This team is pretty deep so it will be a good opportunity for some other kids to step up and produce against some quality teams.

Arey will possibly miss the first game but should be ready for game 2 against North Adams. That is all the time he will be out. I'm sure it may take some time to get all his conditioning back, but if you've ever seen this kid practice he goes all out all the time.

J-Bird wrote:derpa, the player is Adam Pearl. He went to eastern until 6th grade, went to piketon, and is now coming back to eastern. This is a good contribution to the eagles team. Should start for the team. I heard they are suppose to scrimmage Wheelersburg sometime soon. Should be a good scrimmage and we can see who has the better 8th grade team, seeing that Wheelersburg is suppose to be one of the top teams in the area, along with Ironton, and I would throw Eastern and Piketon in that group as well.
yeah he will probalby start at shooting guard they dont have much strength at shooting guard
