Notre Dame 7th and 8th grade defeated Western by large margins tonight. For my own sake I am not going to post the scores :( .

Westerns 7th grade falls to 0-3
Westerns 8th grade falls to 0-4.

Western travels to Jackson on Thursday to play an out of conference game.
Westerns next conference game will be next Tuesday at home versus Eastern.

Any other updates on the action from Jan 5?

Buddy, were was the clay/green game played?

CoachClaytor the games were played at Rubyville and the 7th grade only had 6 players which made it tough to sub. That makes the second half of the games closer than the first half. Clay playes Notre Dame Thursday.

7th Grade
Western 23
Eastern 29

Eastern picks up their first win of the year. Western falls to 0-4
Eastern was led by Shaw with 18 points.
Dustin Humphrey led the Indians with 17.

8th Grade
Western 38
Eastern 45
Eastern remains undefeated. Western falls to 0-5.
Eastern was led by Chad Lands with 14 and Tavris Pickett with 10.
Colton Lightle led the Indians with 22 with Bryan May following with 8.

I would just like to add that I am very proud of my boys as they fought hard after digging a big hole in the 8th grade game. We showed a lot of heart getting back into the game.

Western will play Clay on Thursday at Western.

Like Lightle Said. Western defeated Clay tonight in 8th grade ball.

Western 46
Clay 40

Game was tied at 9 after one. Clay was up 20-17 at the half. Western led 34-28 after 3.

The Indians were led by Brady Lambert with a season high 18 points. Also in double figures was Chanderl Grooms with a career high 10 points, including 2 three pointers.

The win improves Westerns Record to 1-5.

Clay was lead by Haritan (sp) with 14, with Avila and Shaffer having 8 a piece.

Nice to finally get a W. We played a nice second half against a good Eastern team on tuesday and it appears that it carried over. As long as week keeping playing hard and working hard in practice, I feel greater things are ahead for these Indians.
Clay has improved greatly over last season and I believe this is a great testament to Coach Compton and these boys. They play very hard and the is ultimately the most important thing at this level.

7th Grade

Western18
Clay 37

Clay up 9-4 after one. Clay was up 18-8 at the half. Clay led 22-15 at the end of three.

Western had very balanced scoring with Travis Tong leading the way with 6. Clayton Boyd had 4. Chase Lightle and Joe Wolford each with 3. Dustin Humphrey rounded out the scoring with 2. Chase Fite and Levi May also played without getting into the scoring column.

Clay was led by Hafer with 10 followed by Gillam with 8.

Our seventh grade is greatly improving. The first game of the season was at Clay and Clay won 50-25. So the defense was much better this time. They are playing very hard. Very nice to see them passing the ball around getting everyone involved. Clay has some nice looking athletes on the seventh grade squad.

Western plays again next Thursday @ Green.

ND 7th and 8th grade pick up two wins on Thursday at Eastern Pike. ND 7th grade moves to (8-0) and ND 8th grade moves to (8-1), while winning their last 8 in a row. ND 8th grade opened their season with a loss at home to Eastern Pike and rebounded nicely tonight with a 43-36 win on the road. Go Titans!

Waverly 8th went 2-1 last week beating Valley, Northwest and losing to Burg.
Beat Valley by 6 Northwest by a lot and then lost to burg by 9, was up by 4 at the half but couldnt hang on, nip and tuck game all the way with burg hitting all their free throws down the stretch, I believe they hit their last 8 free throws in the game. Chillicothe and Minford this week.
Coach Stulley has worked this team hard and it shows as long as they keep working hard they will continue to improve and give any team all they want.
