Coaches and rules

Post by hornetmom »

Wanted to see what everyone thought on this subject.
Should coaches have to go by the same rules as teachers and other authority figures in our childrens lives?

Yes they should....teachers can't cuss or belittle students so why should coaches?

Also big difference between teachers and coaches is this....if a kid doesn't do something a coach wants or likes he/she can tell the kid to hit the road and not come back...this usually helps the team....however, a teacher can not have a student removed from his/her classroom forever.....Teachers have to learn to deal with that student even if they continue to disrupt the classroom...

I think coaches can also help children in the classroom...if they let athletes know that is important to behave and learn in class it makes both the coach and teachers jobs a lot easier.

I believe in discipline, that is something that think all children need. But there is a fine line when it goes too far. To cuss and carry on is going to far, there are other ways to get the point across. Still have to remember that these are just kids.
