ironton 8th grade blows out russel.2 dunks in game

ironton 66 russel 26.there were two dunks in this game.both from ironton.one was a two handed jam by dion brown,and the other by trevor white.irontons eighth grade has 4 or 5 kids that already dunk:dion brown,trey fletcher,zac carter,trevor white,and nick culbertson is very close.ironton is phenominal

I wished Ironton 8th grade boys played Coal Grove, that would be the game to watch Tanner Dutey would blow them out of the water! I am not so sure about 8th grade Ironton boys "dunken", I haven't seen that, but I do know Dion Brown & Trey Fletcher well & they are good ball players.

Not only are these boys great individual players they are great team players. One of the boys on the team scored his first points of the season hitting 2 - 3 point shots. They way the team acted you would have thought they won a championship. They were so proud and happy for their teammate. It's great to see a team that is happy for each other and not just looking out for themselves. Congratulations to the I-town 8th grade team, you are true gentlemen.

Congrats Tigers............They are awesome and are very unselfish, great team basketball.

Not sure who came close to staying with the Tigers because no one has, They are in a league of their own. I'm not a players mom but a cheer mom and I'm now a big fan of basketball. These guys are great to watch.

In watching some of the Irontons games this year, I would say this is the best 8th grade team south of Columbus if not in all of Ohio..Great ball club with some special athletes..I would even say they could beat alot of High School reserve teams right now...

Hey I would agree with you, they are that good. I've been to some of their games this year and the first time I seen them play I was amazed. They play great togather as a team and are very quick getting up and down the court. I would say some of them will get some JV time next year like a couple of the Freshmen this year.

The starters did not play in almost half of the game once again. At the end of the 1st quarter it was Ironton 20 Russell 2 with the top guys playing that whole quarter. This game, like all their others could be as bad as they want it to, but Coach Smith does the classy thing. I sometimes wonder if "doing the classy thing" is actually hurting these kids develop as basketball players though. They have yet to play 4 quarters in 2 years and if they actually do have a close game, they may not be prepared. Lastly, it is absolutely comical to think that ANY team in the southeastern part of Ohio would come close to this team, let alone beat them. If you think so, then you have not seen them!

It would be interesting to see Ironton 8th grade boys play Peebles.They can not get much competition here either.Are all the boys originally from Ironton or did any of them transfer in?

I've known most of the boys (all but 3) since they were in first grade. The boys I know all went to Ironton schools since elementary school.
