Re: The Clay Panthers Boys-Girls
Clay's Jr. high took on East last night. The 8th grade girls played first. Kattie Redding was a force to deal with. Kattie forced several turnovers and rebounded well and was driving the ball down the court to score at will. To tell you the truth I lost interest in the game when the score was like 10-1 (Clay) in the first qtr. The girls dominated the game. Final score was 65-20 (I think). Good job girls!!!
The 7th & 8th grade boys for Clay played together. East combined their 7th & 8th grade teams due to several players were injured in a car accident over the weekend. Michael Schimdt came out in the first qtr and scored 4 points in the first minute. Baldridge forced several turnovers in the game. Clay moved the ball around well in the first half scored at will. Clay maintained a 10-15 point led throughout the game. Hafer showed his jumping skills. I saw great sportmanship from a East player. Hafer blocked a shot of a East player. When the East player went to bring the ball in the East player went over to Hafer and shook his hand. Hafer was amazing!! Getting well above the rim. East came out in the 2nd half and was aggressive and was hitting their shots. Final score was 44-34.
As for the 7th graders. Matt Smith came and did a good job working under the boards. Phipps and Phillips came in next. Connor Phipps forced a couple of turnovers and Zach Phillips made 5 quick points. Next up for Clay boys is Green at home Thursday!!
