This is just the start of the season and we ae already working hard... LIL MOM you keep posting what you want and as long as you are not attacking a kid,, then you have nothing to worry about. I on the other hand expect to get blasted for what i posted But I was just asking a question.
My information came from a Coal Grove parent so I am just relaying and clarifying.
Anyway, I would like to see a championship between the states like someone else had posted.
Anyone want to work on getting this done?????
I would think around the second weekend of November. Almost a TURKEY BOWL !!!

Any thoughts post away..

Thanks Devilogist! And thanks again for taking the heat off of me, lol. Just kidding. Anyway, that would be neat to have a championship between the states. Could that work?

Devilologist, I'm not sure why it matters but no I'm not at work right now.

I don't know what kid you are talking about so I have no idea if he was held back or if he was why he was held back so I can't answer your question.

I made the comments I did because it's frustrating to hear about people talking about kids. I guess it is possible that someone at your work asked a legitimate question about kids being held back and the guidelines placed on it by school boards. From my experience, I can forsee the conversation being more like a group of people complaining because a good athlete was held back in order to help a program; likely a rival school's program. I don't know who you are or where you work so I am not commenting directly about your conversations. I am just speaking to most conversations I've heard on such matters.

I know a parent that held back a child who made all A's. This child played sports but the parent thought the child was too young for his group and was immature. It may not be a common practice but parents do hold kids back for reasons other than grades or athletics.

I would guess that every team in the league either has a kid who has been held back or started school late :?:Some probaly have more than others, but i guess that a parental decision.

What is the second weekend in November?
Where can we play?
How do we tell who plays in it?
Kentucky has no conference that every team around here plays in. I would guess that Raceland, Russell, Greenup Greysbranch, Greenup McKell, Boyd Co, Lawrence Co all play each other but I dont think that there is a league. East Carter, West Carter and Fairview do not play everybody in the area. Along with Lewis Co, Morgan Co who plays only some teams...... So how do you suppose to pick the champion from here???? I am open to suggestions.....

I would just like to say, "How proud I was of both teams?" I would particular like to brag about Ironton eventhough I'm from the grove." Their kids showed plenty of pride and respect. Way to go Ironton Bills Coaches. Sportmanship is a great key to athletics.. Thanks big Ateam Bills. :-D

Hornets keep respecting each other and playing as a team, and You guys will go far! Great Job Coaches and Big A-Team Hornets. :122249

I will agree with BWH, as a parent who held a kid back I can say that it is one of the best decisions I've made in preparing him for high school and college( in a few years) . He was an A student but was very young for his class. It has helped him emotionally and socially. I'm sharing this not to defend my decision to hold him back, don't feel as though I owe anyone an explaination, but to maybe shed some light to someone who might be thinking holding their child back.
