OKAY the first round will consist of 3 games....

TSYFL 1 vs OVC 2
Kentucky 1 vs TSYFL 2
OVC 1 vs Kentucky 2

Since Kentucky does nto have a league they will be seeded by games played against teams, win loss record and who they have played.. Alot of teams play each other and those 2 seeds will consist of alot break downs since they dont all play each other.. Russell, Boyd, Lawrence, Greenup Greysbranch, Greenup McKell all play each other. Raceland does not play Russell but plays everyone else, they play West Carter and East Carter. East and West will not play Russell. So this puts alot of FACTORS in the mix. As you can see the Kentucky teams will be seeded by best record, head to head and then points for and against....

As I can see, we can play first round at our field on November 8th.
Saturday November 8th
Game 1 at 12p = TSYFL 1 vs OVC 2
Game 2 at 2 pm= Kentucky 1 vs TSYFL 2
Game 3 at 4 pm= OVC 1 vs Kentucky 2

Sunday November 9th
Winner of Game 1 and Game 3 at 2pm.
Location TBA.
Winner of Game 2- BYE.

Monday November 10th
Championship Game on MONDAY NIGHT TOO.
7pm -South Point High School. (If they dont have a game.)

Problem would be who gets the BYE and who plays the second game.... Thats going to be an issue.

the bye issue could be avoided. if you could pick up 2 scioto teams and have 2 games on Sunday to have the winners play on monday for the championship. Coal Grove could host the 2nd round if you want on Sunday afternoon.

sorry I re-read your post after the fact.. I can see where the other team are from now.... I still thought we decided on keeping the playoffs for our area only ,, Just wondering.. Just a thought lets keep talking....
Round 1 at Russell =4 games?
Round 2 at Coal Grove or Rock Hill= 2 Games
Championship at South Point High School. Someone check to see that they are open that night and if they would be interested in being a part of this.....

It just seemed that it would keep the issue of a bye from being a problem. I just thought if we picked up some scioto teams it would still fit the name river bowl. We could always do a coin toss to see who would have the bye if we keep it at 6 teams. Kinda like Friday Night Lights. :-D

Have you thought about referees yet? Do you have any contacts? I can check with our referees on Saturday if you would want one from each league.

Thats a good idae about the refs, I know that our refs call highschool on Fridays and that I can get the local high school refs and white hat for the Bowl games.... A good thought of havig a ref from each league would be a good idea.
I can also put this in the hands of the regional planner and have all refs be high school refs and have it ready to go.. NO parent will wear a striped shirt and call a game.. NO coach or asst coach will be allowed to call or ref a game in the tourney or bowl series....... AGREED !!!!!!!!!

No matter how it's done, keep in mind it's a first time for this and things are gonna go wrong or in hindsight a better method could have been used. What we need is to not let this get in the way of this becoming a yearly event. Nothing but good can come from this for all the youth leagues of the area and is a good step towards developing youth football in this area. Devil the commisioner of TSYFL is Marty Murphy. He also officiates in this area so you may even know him. He has tried to put together a game with the chemical valley league and us before but logistics and difference in rules got in the way. Lets not let that interfere in this one. If anyone needs his no. I won't post it on an open forum but let me know and I will call him and get his permission to give it to you or if there is anything I can do I would be willing to help.

I spoke to my buddy who is a white hat here in Kentucky and he is sure that this can be worked out. He knows alot of people and if he does not know all of them I am sure that another friend can work something out.... as far as I am concerned please feel free to contact who ever you need to contact to make this happen.

FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS:
Set a date and time for a joint meeting for all local intersted leagues. Either president or representtive from each league. An official from each league and coaches that can get there. Lets say that this should be done this coming week.. Prolly next Saturday night at 9pm or or Sunday afternoon around 2pm...
Sunday may be better at 2pm and we can meet somewhere in the middle of all leagues...

1. When to meet?
2. Where to meet?

Lets get this rolling..... and get this meeting out of the way....
We can all sit down and discuss this together.

I will let our coach and league president know about it, but I am sure that they can make it,, they are 2 different people....

Sounds good.. we need everybody else to be there.... At least one rep from the TSYFL and we can get this hammered out Sunday at 2pm......
I will bring paperwork for the teams, league president to review....
