Chesapeake wins two from GAHS

Visiting Chesapeake captured a double-header victory over the Gallipolis 7th and 8th graders on the Washington School hardwood Thursday evening.
In the opener, CHS erased a 6-0 first period deficit to trip Gallipolis, 42-28.
Chesapeake led 9-7, 20-16 and 34-22 at the quarter marks. The loss left GAHS 0-2 on the year. It was Chesapeake’s opener.
In the nightcap, Chesapeake jumped out in front 22-8 after one period, and was on top 32-16 during the halftime intermission.
Chesapeake led 38-31 after three, and with 3:40 left, the Little Blue Devils pulled within seven again, 42-35, but the Little Panthers went into a semi-stall to win, 48-39. Gallipolis dropped to 0-2on the year. Chesapeake started the season with a victory.
Monday, the Gallians will host Pt. Pleasant in another double-header on the Washington hardwood. The first game starts at 5:30 p.m.
