chase only threw 16 pitches to close out the win, chase will be todays starter. i was told that the team wheelersburg will be playing got mercy ruled into the loosers bracket. all the teams are usualy pretty good at the state level, but it looks like this may be a confidence booster for the burg team giving them the chance to put lots of runs on the board

Congrats to the Wheelersburg Pirates on their two victories and good luck tomorrow.

I have a question. Do these teams advance any further than the state tourney or is this it for them? Do they have regional competition and a World Series for the 9/10 division? Just curious.

At the 9-10 level the farthest they can go is to State..Once they get to 11-12 then you move on to regionals then to the world series..

Good Job Pirates!!! Good Luck in today's game!!

Wheelersburg eliminates Painesville today by the score of 15-5 after 4 1/2 innings in a tremendous hit parade.

Painesville scores the first three runs of the game in the first and Wheelersburg starts the hitting right off the bat putting up six runs in the first. Painesville tallies
two in the second, with the Pirates adding another seven to lead 13-5 after two innings. We added two runs in the third and shut Painesville out in the fourth to secure the win. Kyle Jenkins and Xander Carmichael each homered in the game. Wheelersburg plays probably Canfield tomorrow at 5:00 as they were leading Avon when we left. There are four teams left in the tournament.

In the home run derby with all ten teams participating, the Wheelersburg kids came away with two tied for first with four each, being Kyle Jenkins and Xander Carmichael. In second place, was Lyden Collins with 3. This was quite an accomplishment. Also, eight of the twelve Pirate kids hit at least one home run in the derby.

Congratulations Pirates and Good Luck tomorrow!

Wheelersburg finishes 4th in the State! Congratulations Pirates!

Canfield 9 Wheelersburg 5

After 1, Wheelersburg led 3-2.
After 2, Canfield led 4-3.
After 3, Canfield 7-5.
After 4, Canfield 7-5.
After 5, Canfield 9-5
And the final Canfield 9 Wheelersburg 5.

Canfield was an excellent defensive team. Canfield now moves on to face Maumee who lost to Hamilton today. Hamilton awaits in the winners bracket.

Again, Congratulations to the fine young team from Wheelersburg. They represented the district well. Thanks to the community who gave great support to these kids.
