Host Gallipolis edged visiting Fairland's 8th graders, 8-6, in a thrilling double overtime on Memorial Field Thursday evening.

After four scoreless quarters, neither team scored in the first overtime.

Justin Bailey's run on fourth down in the second overtime gave GAHS a 6-0 advantage. Nick Clagg added the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.

The Dragons Tucker scored on their fourth down, but was stopped short on the two-point conversion.

It was Gallipolis' first victory over Fairland's 8th graders in eight or nine years, and the triumph left the Little Blue Devils 3-0 on the year. Fairland dropped to 3-1.

Next Wednesday, the GAHS 8th graders will travel to Logan for their next outing.

Wednesday evening, Gallipolis' 7th graders fell to 1-1-1 on the year after a 20-12 setback at Logan. The Gallians will host Logan on Memorial Field next Tuesday.

This was one of the most exciting games that I have seen in a long time. Both teams played hard and as the old saying goes, it was a shame that one team had to post a "L". I believe that Logan may still be undefeated as the Devils visit this coming week. Here's hoping the Big Blue comes away with another win this week!!!
As long as they play together and work together I do believe that they are very capable of bringing home another win, they just need to remember that there is no "I" in TEAM.
