the 2008 season will kickoff saturday the 4th with a new commissoner in dave allison. it will run 5 straight saturdays starting at 5,6,7 o`clock.

The old commisioners have done a good job at recognizing potential problems and defusing them as well as ruling the league rather than allowing the league to rule the commisioner. This has been a different year and much of what has been cut out of the league in previous years is now being allowed back in mainly b/c of lack of experience with the new commisioner as well as the fact that the committee formed to oversee the league has been over ruled and one individual is making all of the changes and calling all the shots. Most of the stuff being allowed to go on now has been done and eliminated in the past. With that said the league has had another pretty good year and the kids seem to be learning the game the right way which is very important. The problems may only get worse if things don't change at the top and a very good league may be hurt as a result. Looking at the surrounding leagues there is no comparison other than in Lawrence Co when looking at the results of this league over the years. If it's name is hurt then the league will suffer in the end and kids will be stuck either not playing or playing in an inferior league in the surrounding area.
