All 14 players got to play, The pirates was down by 8 at the begining of the 4th quarter with strong defense they were able to come from behind and get the victory.Record 2-0 good start boys.

West @ Valley

7th Grade: West 31 - Valley 28
The Indians and Senators played a very competitive game. Unfortunately, Valley's 7th Graders came up just short as a long 3 at the buzzer bounced off the front of the rim then the back of the rim before falling out. The Indians missed way too many lay-ups and point blank shots which shot them in the foot. West's big center had a tremendous game. I think I heard someone in the crowd say he finished with 20 or 21 of the Senators 31 points.

8th Grade: Valley 46 - West 17
The Indians jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead and never looked back. They seemed to get balanced scoring and got quite a few minutes from the entire roster. This group is fun to watch and I look forward to getting a chance to see them play a couple more times this season if my work schedule will allow.

One of the parents was telling me that Valley has road games with Oak Hill and South Webster next week. Anybody know much about either of those teams?

Valley 8th actually won 46 - 17 and Valley 7th final was 28-31. I agree with Hitops, the 8th grade is a lot of fun to watch and the 7th grade is really playing much better than I think most expected. They are going to get a win soon and I can't wait for those kids to do that. The future definitely looks bright for Valley basketball.

Has Gallipolis 7th-8th graders played any games?

They have only played one I think.

Both lost to SP Thurs.
7th was 44-22, Your 7th was just outmatched. both teams did get all the kids into the game. the 7th grade coach for Galia showed a lot of class in the loss.

8th was 32-29. SP lead by as much as 10 or so and Galia battled back to score a bucket with the clock going off to make it a 3 pt. game. Jarrell and Carter were your leading scorers.
