West 7th grade should not have any problem with any team this year. Don't know much about Portsmouth's 8th grade team but don't think that West 8th will have any problem tonight either.

The 8th grade team at Portsmouth is pretty athletic....but not much offense.


7th grade team seems to have just begun playing....they play hard, but aren't sure what to do a good bit.

West 7th Grade over Portsmouth 49-17 Taylor Conley lead in points with 15, 3 rebounds and 3 steals - Hannah Cremeans 13 points, 9 rebounds,2 assists, and 8 steals-Bobby Jo Howard 8 points, 8 rebounds , 2 assists, and 6 steals-Alex Ridout 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals-Gabby Guthrie 4 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 steal-Alley Kleinman 2 points and 1 rebound.

West 8th Grade over Portsmouth 32-11. Tara Journey 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals-Tori Leader 9 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals-Alex Weghorst 6 points, 7 rebounds-Kayla Webb 4 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals-Andera Frump 2 points,2 rebounds and 2 assists.


After a slow start they started clicking the 2nd half. Good luck and keep up the hard work.

Congrats to both Portsmouth West 7th and 8th grade teams. 7th graders looked very impressive. It's apparent that they have played together previously and I like their "run and gun" approach. Portsmouth 8th grade picked it up in the 2nd half, however, they've got to learn to play for 4 quarters. You can't expect to win every game, you have to go out and play fundamental ball and give 110% every game. I also saw some attitudes flare up...that will cost them games if not adjusted. both 7th and 8th are fun to watch -- these girls understand the game very well for their age. Lots of W's will be seen for both groups
