yeah they are pretty quick, the blonde haired boy who is also their qb is pretty good , they will try to get up in your face, press, and try to score most of their points off of their defense, dont know if they have any transfers this yr, they had a 6'7" boy play 8th grade last yr who transfered in. first time I ever saw a kid get dunked on during a jr. high game before. Let me know how they look we play them later on in the season.

7th grade game was a blowout at the start, with Chilly winning. They have some nice guards and two nice big men. Disappointing in are kids tonight. But I hope it was a learning enviornment for them.

8th grade we loss by 7pionts...we was up 19-16 at the half...but my kids did not stay focus...they have to learn to play 4 quarters not 2.

7th grade they have some size...they played a 1-2-2 man to man press..and are kids did not do a good job of getting the ball in the middle of the court..

8th grade...They have some good kids on that team...but we beat are selfves..got a little cocky at halftime and Chilly came out with a pressure and we did not take care of business.

Could you explain the 1-2-2 man to man press? Or did they play some 1-2-2 and some man press?

Yes I understand all about the kids not getting to the middle, they see that supposed open sideline and think they got open only to get trapped, now having the sideline as another defender, hard to get through to them thats where the defense wants them to be, trapped, and now they have to try to throw over it, if they would have just reversed to the other side of the court its open, not to mention that you are wearing down the defense making them play the whole court.
Personally I would like to see more pics coming after the ball is inbounded and actually attacking the press. If u have a big man who can pass to inbound to him. have the 2 who inbounds to set a pic for your 1 guard, passing to him and start a fastbreak would be ideal i believe, u could even use your 3 and 4 to set pics at halfcourt and after your 2 sets his pic to attack from the other side of the court. just a thought. could get some easy looks. My opinion is you have to make a team pay for trying to press u always attacking.
