SHL Boys
Are the Fairfield 8th grade boys the real deal? I hear they beat Lyncburg rather handily. Peebles and Ripley have to be the head of the class, in the 8th grade. 7th grade I have not heard much, I am guessing you have the normal schools who seem to be in year in and year out, NA, Eastern but I have not heard much. These boys in the Jr High league seem to always have fun an play hard, really more fun to watch than some of the high school teams.

8th Grade
Do doubt that Peebles is the front runner with Ripley in second. Eastern, Fayetteville with a close 3rd. North Adams, West Union, Whiteoak, Lynchburg, Fairfield all pretty close to each other. Manchester is not very good, but learning and trying to get better.
7th Grade
I dont know much about. But watch out for West Union...they are a very good basketball team and well coached.

Tarheel44,
Why would you post a statement on here that a team is not very good when more than likely a child from that team will read it. Very inappropriate and if you are a coach then maybe you are too inmature to have that responsibility.

If what I heard is right Lynchburg 8th grade gave Eastern a run for their money, Coach Pierson must be working some magic.
Re: SHL Boys
Whiteoak has nice size and some depth with players back from last year. I'd be surprised if there were too many teams ahead of them in the SHL.

Re: SHL Boys
I think a shooting guard moved to Whiteoak. I think he started for Lynchburg last year, not sure how he is doing at Whiteoak, seemed to me last year they had a few guards who could play. I will be very interested to see them and Peebles play, anyone know when that game is?
Re: SHL Boys
Whiteoak at Peebles 12/20 with the 7th grade beginning at 10:00 AM. Should be a very good game.

Re: SHL Boys
Saw the Lynchburg/White Oak game last night, Lynchburgs seventh grade is either very good, or White Oak is hurting. I think LC won by 12 to 15 but very easily could have been 50. The eighth grade game was hands down all Whiteoak, I think the final ended up 68 to 21, Tarheel there was no press at all, and White Oaks best players were on the bench most of the game. So far they seem like the team to beat, have not seen peebles but White Oak seemed tough
