Gallipolis Junior High teams sweep Logan

Host Gallipolis won a twinbill over Logan Monday night with the 7th graders winning 43-33 and the 8th grade coming out on top, 42-35.
In the opener, Gallipolis, now 4-0, led 17-5, 25-9 and 38-20 at the quartermarks.
Logan, now 0-4, was led by Comer's 20 markers
For GAHS, Terhan Barnitz led the way with 12 points. Wade Martin added 10, Wade Jarrell seven, Reid Eastman 6, Brian Wallace and Logan Allison four each.
In the nightcap, Gallipolis, now 3-1, trailed 11-10 after one period. The Little Blue Devils outscored Logan 11-2 in the second quarter to take a 21-13 halftime lead.
It was a nip-and-tuck battle in the third period. The Little Chieftains took advantage of missed GAHS free throws and turnovers by GAHs to outscore the home team, 15-6, to take a 28-27 lead into the final period.
Gallipolis outscored Logan 15-7 in the final quarter to hand the Little Chiefs their first loss of the year. LHS is now 3-1 on the season.
Justin Bailey led GAHS with 10 points. Cody Call added nine, Jimbo Clagg seven, Nick Clagg five, Austin Lewis four, T. J. McCalla three, Jeremy Wilson and Luke Eberhard two each.
G. Jowdan led Logan with 11 points and Cory McCardy added 10.
Gallipolis will travel to Chillicothe Thursday for a doubleheader against the Cavs.
